Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response fails to accurately describe the data provided in the graph. You have misinterpreted the task as a pie chart rather than a line graph, and the data points mentioned (e.g., '11% accumulatively') do not reflect the actual trends shown in the image. Furthermore, you have included irrelevant personal commentary about the health effects of carbon dioxide, which is not required for an Academic Task 1 report. The summary lacks a clear overview of the trends over the 40-year period, focusing instead on inaccurate static comparisons. To improve, focus strictly on reporting the data trends (increases, decreases, and fluctuations) and avoid adding external opinions.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is divided into paragraphs, but the logical progression is weak. The introduction and body paragraphs repeat similar information without adding depth or clarity. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'In the commencement' and 'Overall', but they are often used incorrectly or in a way that does not help the flow of information. The referencing is unclear, and the transition between sentences is often abrupt or repetitive. To improve, ensure each paragraph has a distinct purpose—such as grouping countries by trend—and use linking words more naturally to connect related ideas.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and often inaccurate. There are several word-choice errors, such as 'commencement' (which is not appropriate for starting a report), 'effected' (instead of 'affected'), and 'damaged most'. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to describe trends effectively; for example, you lack terms like 'fluctuated', 'peaked', 'declined', or 'remained stable'. The repetition of phrases like 'highest point' and 'accumulatively' further restricts the quality of the response. Expanding your vocabulary to include trend-specific verbs and adverbs is essential for a higher score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'The given pie chart demonstrate'), missing articles, and incorrect preposition usage (e.g., 'most effected from'). Sentence structures are generally simple and repetitive, with few attempts at complex sentences. Punctuation is also inconsistent. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring that subjects and verbs agree, and practicing the correct use of articles and prepositions. Reviewing your work for these basic errors before finishing is highly recommended.
