Student answer (Band 4.5)
The graph below shows average carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions per person in the United Kingdom, Sweden, Italy and Portugal between 1967 and 2007.
we have data of 10 years range from 1967 to 2007 which really help us to figure or what is happening and reason of emissions.
as we observe that UK (CO2) emissions per person droped from 11 per person to almost 9 per person over 50 years,
as in sweden emissions per person increases around 9 to 10.5 per person from 1967 to 1977 and after that its droped masively after it to 5.5.
at the same time in Italy its increases from 4.2 to 7.8 during these 50 years and same in portugal its increases from 1 to 5.5.
Resurchers were trying to get the reason of droping (CO2) emissions per person of United Kingdom and Sweden and increasing in Italy and Portugal.
These changes could effected due to population of these countries, as its shows.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
The response addresses the task only partially and falls short of the 150-word minimum, containing only 145 words once the copied prompt is excluded. The writer attempts to report the main features and makes some basic comparisons, such as noting the downward trend in the UK and increases in Italy and Portugal. However, the selection of data is limited and contains inaccurate figures, such as stating that Italy's emissions increased from 4.2 to 7.8 and Portugal's from 1 to 5.5, while missing key trends like Sweden's peak and subsequent decline in detail. Furthermore, the inclusion of personal commentary regarding 'Resurchers' and population causes the response to drift from a purely objective summary into speculation.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0
Information and ideas are not arranged coherently, leading to a weak overall progression. The response lacks proper paragraphing, grouping unrelated points together in a single block of text after copying the prompt. Cohesive devices are minimal, repetitive, or inaccurate, with phrases like 'as we observe that', 'after that its droped masively after it', and 'at the same time' used awkwardly. The referencing between sentences is often unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow a logical development of data points across the timeline.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is limited and repetitive, reflecting a minimally adequate range for the task. There are noticeable spelling and word choice errors throughout the text, such as 'droped' instead of dropped, 'masively' instead of massively, and 'Resurchers' instead of researchers. While the writer attempts some topic-specific vocabulary related to emissions and data, inaccuracies in word form and collocation occasionally cause strain for the reader, preventing the response from reaching a higher level.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The grammatical range is very limited, relying heavily on simple sentence structures and repetitive clauses. Attempts at complex sentences are frequently faulty, marred by errors in verb tenses, subject-verb agreement, and prepositions, such as 'emissions per person increases' and 'These changes could effected'. Punctuation is also problematic, with run-on sentences connected loosely by conjunctions. Frequent errors in basic grammar and sentence construction cause noticeable difficulty for the reader throughout the text.
