Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You address both views: the first body paragraph explains that English can help Indian people travel, find work and manage daily life abroad, while the next mentions learning about other countries’ cultures and traditions. Your conclusion also gives a general opinion that language learning has benefits beyond travel and employment. However, the discussion is brief and the second view is not fully explained; the essay gives little support for why cultural understanding is valuable. The opinion could also be stated more clearly and consistently. The response is 190 words, below the required 250, so there is not enough development to cover the task fully. Add a specific example and explain each view before concluding.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two paragraphs introduced by “first” and “secondly,” and a conclusion. This helps the reader identify the two sides of the discussion. However, progression within the paragraphs is limited, and several ideas are joined in long, unclear sequences, particularly the explanation about finding “a home a job” and learning “how to survive.” Linking is also repetitive and sometimes awkward: “Now i would like to talk about” and “in conclusion” announce sections rather than showing relationships between ideas. Use clearer topic sentences, separate supporting points into sentences, and connect examples directly to the claim they support. This would make the organisation more coherent and reduce the impression of a list.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use a basic set of relevant words, including “travel,” “work,” “foreign language,” “cultures” and “traditions,” so the main topic is generally understandable. However, vocabulary is repetitive and often imprecise, which limits how clearly you can express the discussion. For example, “travel one place to another” and “finding work their” do not convey the ideas naturally, while “assisters” appears to be an incorrect word for ancestors. There are also frequent spelling errors, such as “Nowdays,” “beleive,” “somone” and “travell.” Build a wider range of accurate phrases for discussing practical and cultural benefits, and check spelling carefully. More precise word choice would make your examples easier to follow.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt to express connected ideas using clauses, for example, “because English is very common in abroad countries,” and you use a basic paragraph-level sequence. However, sentence structures are mostly simple or become long and difficult to control. Errors in agreement and verb forms occur in phrases such as “learning foreign language help” and “they should also lear,” while articles and sentence construction are often missing or inaccurate, as in “in order to travel or work” without an article before “foreign language.” Capitalisation and punctuation are also inconsistent, including lowercase “i” and incomplete sentence boundaries. Aim for shorter, complete sentences first, then add controlled subordinate clauses. Check subject–verb agreement, articles and punctuation during revision.
