Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You introduce both views and give a personal position, noting benefits such as employment, travel and communication. However, the discussion only partially develops the task: the first body paragraph focuses on work and travel, while the second mainly describes communicating with local people and experiencing culture. The broader view that languages can be valuable for reasons beyond travel or overseas employment is not clearly explained or supported with a distinct example. Your position is also difficult to follow because the introduction lists benefits, but the conclusion shifts to learning through social media and conversation. To strengthen the response, explain each side directly, develop one or two reasons with clear examples, and state consistently why you believe language learning has wider value.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a recognisable essay structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs signposted by “On the one hand” and “On the other hand,” and a conclusion. These paragraph divisions help readers identify the intended sections. However, progression within paragraphs is often unclear: the first body paragraph moves from job opportunities to colleagues, then Bangladesh and travel without showing how the examples support the main point. Some linking phrases are inaccurate or do not express a clear relationship, such as “However, by travelling can learn…” The conclusion also introduces social media without developing that idea earlier. Build each paragraph around one clear claim, then explain and illustrate it in sequence; use linking words only when their logical relationship is clear.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You attempt vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “career growth,” “communicate,” “culture,” and “traditional food,” and you use some variation rather than repeating only “language.” However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations make meaning difficult to understand. Examples include “learning a overseas language,” “better job opportunity,” “there are numerous has,” and “tests their traditional food.” Spelling errors such as “benifits,” “colleage,” “Learnign,” and “Thiland” are also noticeable. Aim for accurate, natural combinations such as “learn a foreign language,” “improve employment prospects,” and “sample local cuisine.” Checking spelling and choosing familiar words precisely will make your ideas clearer and more convincing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a conditional idea beginning “if they know these nation language,” and a contrastive opening with “Although.” However, sentence structures are limited, and errors occur frequently enough to make some relationships difficult to follow. For example, “employees allows” has faulty subject–verb agreement, while “when individuals go abroad, they can work this countries people” has problems with the verb pattern and sentence construction. Articles, plurals and prepositions are also often inaccurate, as in “a overseas language” and “these nation language.” The final sentence beginning “Although” is not completed as a dependent clause. Practise building accurate subject–verb sentences first, then add subordinate clauses and check agreement, articles and punctuation.
