Student answer (Band 5.0)

In the contemporary era, learning an international language are very crucial because it offer several benefits, while some people believe that learning a foreign language is only in order to travel or work in a foreign country. Others argue that their are multiple reason behind learn a foreign language. Hower i will discuss both views before explaining my own opinion.

On the one hand, learning a foreign language offer lot of benefits in order to study abroad, travel to or work purposes. It is very mandatory to get knowledge about foreign language in case of travel. To example, when we travel to United Kingdom for work purpose we have to speak English correctly. Consequently, we could able to work their or earn a stable income. At work place or espeacially on airport we have to communicate in their native language, when it make complete sense of understanding. Learning foreign language may be helpful in case of travel. for instance, traveling through out the world demands complete awareness of foreign language. so that why, we need to work on that.

on the other hand, there are lot of other benefits of learning foreign language such as study abroad and communication with people from different countries. Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You address both views and state that learning a foreign language has “several benefits,” so your general position is present. The first body paragraph gives relevant reasons connected to work and travel, including communicating at work or at an airport. However, the discussion is only partial: the second view is supported mainly by studying abroad and reading news, and these points are not explained in much detail. The example about English in America or the United Kingdom also returns to study abroad rather than developing a distinct reason for learning languages. Your opinion is brief and its final point is unclear. Explain why language learning matters beyond travel and employment, then support that view with a specific example and a clearer conclusion.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has an introduction, two body paragraphs signalled by “On the one hand” and “on the other hand,” and a final statement of opinion. This gives the reader some organisation and makes the two perspectives identifiable. However, progression within paragraphs is weak: the first body paragraph repeats the travel benefit several times, while the second moves quickly from general benefits to news and study without showing how the ideas connect. Linking expressions such as “Consequently,” “To illustrate,” and “for instance” are used, but some connections are unclear or repetitive. The final opinion is not developed into a clear concluding paragraph. Group related reasons, avoid repeating the same point, and use references and transitions that show the relationship between each example and the main idea.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “foreign language,” “stable income,” “communicate,” and “native speaker,” and you attempt phrases such as “multiple reason” and “complete awareness.” However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, which sometimes makes the intended meaning less clear. For example, “It is very mandatory” is unnatural, and “traveling through out the world demands complete awareness of foreign language” does not express the point precisely. Spelling errors such as “Hower,” “espeacially,” and “pratice” also reduce accuracy. Build a more precise set of expressions for discussing language-learning benefits, and check spelling and natural word combinations when revising.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including a conditional example beginning “when we travel to United Kingdom” and a result clause introduced by “Consequently.” However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently in basic sentence patterns and in attempts to combine clauses. Examples include “learning an international language are,” “it offer,” “their are multiple reason,” and “we could able to work.” Articles and sentence boundaries are also inconsistent, as in “travel to United Kingdom” and the lower-case starts after full stops. These errors can make some sentences difficult to follow, even though the overall topic remains understandable. Practise subject–verb agreement, complete verb forms, articles, and punctuation, then check each sentence for a clear subject and main verb.
