Student answer (Band 6.0)
I completely deny from the statement that people learn foreign language just in order to travel or to work in foreign country. The main reason is that a lot of people also learn foreign language to learn new things and to increase their knowledge. Moreover many individuals learn English to make it fluent and better. Therefore I think that everyone is urge to make their English better.
There are many individuals who learn foreign language just to study and to work in foreign country because they had an aim to study abroad and to keep their future secure. I think both ideas are valid and have value at their own place. But ,I support the idea that we should not learn English and foreign language to study abroad. We should also learn English because it makes us more confident in public talks and help us to learn a new practical skills. Another reason is that many people learn language to communicate with their friends and family. It is also a good source of communication to other people. It also changes how we think and how we relate with other people.
If you really want to move abroad for work or to study you really had to learn foreign language because when you order food or ask directions while travelling make your life easier. Without this people face barriers in their business, miss opportunities and depend on translators.
In conclusion, people who want to go abroad learn foreign language to make their life easier and other do it just for practical skills.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both views and provides a personal opinion, meeting the basic requirements of the prompt. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. While you mention that learning a language helps with 'public talks' and 'practical skills', these points are not fully extended or supported with specific examples. The position is clear, but the argument lacks depth and logical flow. To improve, ensure that each main idea is supported by a concrete example or a more detailed explanation. The conclusion is a bit repetitive and does not fully synthesize the arguments presented in the body paragraphs.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which is a positive step. However, the logical progression of ideas is often disjointed. Transitions between sentences are sometimes mechanical or missing, such as the abrupt shift between discussing personal growth and the necessity of language for travel. The use of cohesive devices is limited and occasionally repetitive (e.g., 'Another reason is', 'It is also'). Some sentences feel disconnected from the main argument, making the overall flow somewhat choppy. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear, singular focus would significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary used is generally adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. You rely on basic, repetitive phrasing such as 'learn foreign language' and 'make their life easier'. There are some inaccuracies in word choice, such as 'everyone is urge to make their English better' (should be 'urged') and 'public talks' (should be 'public speaking'). To achieve a higher score, try to incorporate more sophisticated vocabulary and collocations related to the topic, such as 'linguistic proficiency', 'cultural immersion', or 'globalized workforce', and pay closer attention to word forms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('everyone is urge'), missing articles ('learn foreign language' instead of 'learn a foreign language'), and tense inconsistencies ('you really had to learn' instead of 'you really have to learn'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. While the meaning is generally understandable, the frequency of these errors prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for subject-verb agreement would be highly beneficial.
