Student answer (Band 5.5)
WHEN TOPIC IS DICUSSED, THERE ARE DIVIDED OPNIONS. SOME ARE OF THE OPINION THAT MANY PEOPLE THINK THAT THE ONLY REASON FOR LEARNING A FOREIGN LANGUAGE IS IN ORDER TO TRAVEL TO OR WORK IN FORIEGN COUNTRY, WHILE THE FEW OTHERS ARGUE THAT THESE ARE NOT THE ONLY FECTOR WHY SOMEBODYLEARN A DIFFERENT LANGUAGE. MEANWHILE, NOT ONLY BOTH VIEWS BUT IN MY OPINION WILL BE EXPLAINED IN THE ENSURING PARAGRAPHS, ALONG WITH EXAMPLES.
EXAMINING THE FORMAL OPINION, THE FORMOST ARGUMENT THE SUPPORTERS WHOULD PUT FORWARD IS FOREIGN LANGUAGE IS WORK AS BRIDGE BETWEEN TWO PERSON. ONE PROMINENT EXAMPLE IS ENGLISH LANGUAGE. ENGLISH POPULARITY IS MORE THAN OTHER LANGUAGE ACROSS THE WORLD. ENGLISH PLAY A CRUCIAL ROLE TO COMMUNICATION BETWEEN TWO DIFFERNET LANGUAGE SPEAKERS. TO JUSTIFY IT FURTHER, MANY MULTI NATIONAL COMAPNIES AND INSTITUTIONS ACCEPT AN ENGLISH AS PROFESSIONAL AND COMMAN WAY TO COMMUNICATION. FOR EXAMPLE, MANY UNIVERSITY RUN THEIR COURSES IN ENGLISH BECAUSE OF STUDENT CAN LEARN ENGLISH ESAILY AND STUDENT CAN ENROLE THE COURSE FROM ANYPLACE. COUNTRIES LIKE GERMANY, FRANCE AND ITALY USE ENGLISH AS FORMAL LANGUAGE FOR EDUCATION.
HOWEVER, OTHERS MANY PEOPLE SAY THAT FOREIGN LANGUAGE SHOULD LEARN FOR NEW LANGUAGE TO UNDERSTAND THE CULTURE. ALSO THE LANGUAGE CONNECT THE PEOPLE EMOTIONALLY.
IN CONCLUSION, IN THIS CONTEMPORARY ERA, THERE IS EQUALLY EVIDENCE TO SUPPORT THE ARGUMENT I HAVE PROVIDED. HENCE, IN MY OPINION LEARNING FOREIGN LANGUAGE IS NOT ONLY PURPOSE

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, which significantly impacts the development of ideas. While you identify both sides of the argument, the discussion is underdeveloped. The second viewpoint regarding cultural understanding is mentioned only briefly, and your own opinion is not clearly stated or supported, as the essay ends abruptly mid-sentence. To improve, ensure you fully explore each perspective with clear examples and provide a cohesive conclusion that reflects your stated position. The lack of completion prevents a full development of the task requirements.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the progression of ideas is hindered by the incomplete nature of the text. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'However' and 'In conclusion', but they are sometimes used mechanically. The transition between the introduction and the body paragraphs is somewhat abrupt. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words to connect sentences and ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence that guides the reader through your argument logically.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is limited and repetitive, with several spelling errors such as 'FORIEGN', 'FECTOR', 'SOMEBODYLEARN', 'COMAPNIES', and 'COMMAN'. While you attempt to use some topic-specific vocabulary like 'multi-national companies' and 'contemporary era', the range is insufficient to express complex ideas precisely. Many phrases are awkward or grammatically incorrect, such as 'foreign language is work as bridge'. You should focus on learning correct collocations and proofreading for basic spelling errors to improve your lexical range and accuracy.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including issues with subject-verb agreement ('English play a crucial role'), article usage ('an English'), and sentence structure ('because of student can learn'). The use of capital letters for the entire essay is inappropriate for formal writing. While there is an attempt at complex sentence structures, they are often faulty and impede clarity. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, subject-verb agreement, and the correct use of articles before attempting more complex grammatical forms.
