Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both views and provides an opinion, but the development is inconsistent. While you mention the benefits of learning a language for travel and work, the arguments regarding 'music and art' are underdeveloped and somewhat confusing. The essay struggles to clearly distinguish between the two viewpoints requested by the prompt, often blending them. To improve, ensure each body paragraph focuses on a distinct perspective with clear, logical support. Your position is stated in the introduction but lacks sufficient reinforcement throughout the body paragraphs, which limits the overall depth of your response.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organised into paragraphs, but the logical progression is frequently interrupted by awkward phrasing and unclear transitions. While you use some cohesive devices like 'First and foremost' and 'To conclude', they are often used mechanically or incorrectly, such as 'To epitome' or 'on travel basis'. Referencing is sometimes unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow the flow of ideas. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring that each sentence logically follows the previous one will significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally limited and repetitive, with several instances of incorrect word choice and collocation. For example, 'grab more knowledge' is informal, and 'new ascent' is likely a misspelling of 'accent' or a misuse of the term. There is also confusion with phrases like 'on travel basis' and 'to epitome'. To reach a higher band, you should focus on using more precise vocabulary and collocations appropriate for an academic context, rather than relying on basic or incorrectly applied terms.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are consistent issues with article usage (e.g., 'learn different language'), subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'if a individual learn'), and sentence structure. While you attempt some complex sentences, they are often faulty or contain punctuation errors. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, specifically ensuring that subjects and verbs agree and that articles are used correctly before singular countable nouns.
