Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, reaching only 199 words. This significantly impacts the development of ideas, as the arguments provided are superficial and lack sufficient supporting evidence or examples. While you have addressed both sides of the argument and stated an opinion, the brevity of the response means the discussion is underdeveloped. To improve, you must expand on your points by providing concrete examples and explaining the 'why' and 'how' behind your arguments. The conclusion is also quite abrupt and does not effectively synthesize the points discussed.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which is a positive step. However, the logical progression of ideas is often hindered by limited use of cohesive devices. Transitions like 'To commence with' and 'Secondly' are used, but they are often followed by fragmented or repetitive sentences. The referencing is sometimes unclear, and the flow between sentences feels mechanical rather than natural. To achieve a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence that is fully supported by the subsequent sentences.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally basic and repetitive. There are several instances of word-choice errors and awkward collocations, such as 'other nations language' instead of 'foreign languages' and 'better habit' instead of 'beneficial practice'. The range of vocabulary is limited, which restricts your ability to express complex ideas precisely. To improve, try to incorporate more topic-specific vocabulary related to linguistics, cognitive development, and global communication. Avoid repeating the same phrases and focus on using synonyms to enhance the variety of your writing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the reader's understanding. Issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'development is also plays'), incorrect article usage, and awkward sentence structures (e.g., 'it is not happen that'). There is a lack of complex sentence structures, and the existing sentences are often simple or contain errors in punctuation and word order. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction before attempting more complex structures. Pay close attention to verb tenses and pluralization, as these are consistent areas of difficulty in your writing.
