Student answer (Band 6.0)

Many people say that the only cause for understanding foreign language is in order to tour or work in other country but opponents beleive that these are not the only purpos why someons should for learn a overseas language. I think opponents thoughts are ture because a lot of cuases to learn or understand other language.

Initialy i want to talk about the opponents there are many cuases to learn english one of the very important is study purpos because without understanding the language of any country it's impossible to study in it. There are many courses for studied in foriegn countries for example ilet's is international level english course for ecpesialy study in euorpe country. Recently my brother done ilet's test and he got 7 bands and finaly he selected for study in Australia.

But foriegn language is also very impotant for travel and work because when someone approached to work in other country firstly, every company have a interview in their native language and someone went to any country for travel. He explore many places and also met a lot of people it's need to understand their language. I have planned to visit china and i also joined a institute for learned the chainise because language understanding is a basic need for travel in any country.

In my opinion travel or work are not only reasons why someone learn many languages. There are lot of cuases to understand foreign language for example online conservation, study, movies, news etc. There are many cuases to learn oversease language.

in coclude, learned a foreign language is very impotant for deffirent ca

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both views and provides a personal opinion, meeting the basic requirements of the prompt. However, the development of ideas is limited. While you mention study, travel, and work, the arguments are somewhat repetitive and lack depth. For instance, the point about 'online conversation' and 'movies' is mentioned in the conclusion but not sufficiently explored in the body paragraphs. To improve, ensure each body paragraph focuses on a distinct, well-supported argument with clear examples. The conclusion is also incomplete, which affects the overall task completion.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate (e.g., 'Initialy', 'in coclude'). There is a lack of variety in linking words, and some transitions between sentences are abrupt, making the flow feel disjointed. Referencing is sometimes unclear, such as in the second paragraph where the connection between the brother's IELTS score and the broader argument about language learning could be smoother. Improving the range and accuracy of transition signals would significantly enhance the logical progression of your ideas.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and variety required for a higher band. There are frequent spelling errors (e.g., 'beleive', 'purpos', 'someons', 'ecpesialy', 'deffirent') and some awkward collocations (e.g., 'done ilet's test', 'selected for study'). While you attempt to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'native language' and 'international level', the overall range is limited. To improve, focus on learning the correct spelling of common academic words and practice using synonyms to avoid repeating basic terms like 'causes' and 'important'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'every company have a interview'), incorrect verb forms (e.g., 'for learned the chainise'), and missing articles or prepositions. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the use of commas and capitalization. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors in basic sentence construction prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focus on proofreading for subject-verb agreement and consistent verb tense usage.
