Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both views and provides a personal opinion, meeting the basic requirements of the prompt. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention travel and work, and cultural understanding, the arguments lack depth and specific, well-explained examples. For instance, the example regarding German students is vague. To reach a higher band, you should expand on the 'why' and 'how' behind your points rather than simply stating them. Your position is clear in the introduction and conclusion, but the overall development of the argument remains superficial, which limits the score.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organised into paragraphs, and there is a logical progression of ideas. You use some cohesive devices, such as 'Moreover', 'Furthermore', and 'To conclude'. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly unnatural, such as 'Examining the former opinion of the reasons' or 'To justify later viewpoint'. Additionally, some transitions between sentences are abrupt, and the referencing is occasionally unclear. Improving the flow between sentences and using a wider variety of linking words more naturally would enhance the coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and variety required for higher bands. You rely on basic terms like 'important', 'great', and 'good'. There are also some issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'making their travelling as well as professional journey great' or 'on the behalf of a native language'. While the meaning is generally clear, the lack of more sophisticated or academic vocabulary prevents a higher score. Focusing on learning collocations and more precise academic synonyms will help improve this area.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

There is a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but the accuracy is inconsistent. You frequently make errors with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'The importance of learning foreign language are increased') and article usage (e.g., 'in contemporary world'). There are also issues with pluralisation and word forms, such as 'knowing other language' instead of 'languages'. While these errors do not usually prevent the reader from understanding your message, they occur frequently enough to impact the overall fluency and accuracy of the text. More attention to basic grammatical rules is needed.
