Student answer (Band 6.0)
The importance of a learning foreign language has increased in the contemporary world. Some people believe that learning a foreign language is essential for travel to another nation as well as work; however, other people claim that there is not only these reasons, whereas they want to know or learn this language for other reasons as well. Prior to my stance both viewpoint are explained further in ensuing paragraphs.
Examining the former opinion of the reasons. One key aspect is that, learning a non-native language plays a significant role for making travel and professional life convenient. Knowing another language assists people in every manner. Therefore, individuals learn this language for their purposes. For instance, in Germany, many students as well as tourists learn the german language just because of making their travelling as well as professional journey great. Moreover, an alternative language help individuals to build their profile strong. In this case, when the individuals want to work or do travel, it often creates a valuable profile. As a result, they put efforts to learn this language.
To justify the later viewpoint of the other aspects of learning a second language. One foremost reason is that, culture is only identified by language. Numerous people are interested in the diverse culture and identity by the language. As a result, people want to know the culture and lifestyle on the behalf of a native language. Furthermore, some experts learn a foreign language for their own experience as well as knowledge. For instance, language experts learn a language for their interest. When some tourists visit their native country, they want to do meaningful conversation with them that gives them satisfaction.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both views as required, but the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. While you mention that language is linked to culture and personal interest, these points are not fully extended with specific, convincing examples. The conclusion is slightly contradictory; you state that you believe the main reason is travel or work, which undermines the balanced discussion presented in the body paragraphs. To improve, ensure your opinion is clearly stated in the introduction and consistently supported throughout the essay, providing more depth to your arguments rather than just listing them.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly unnatural, such as 'To justify the later viewpoint of the other aspects'. Additionally, some transitions are repetitive or awkward, like 'In this case' and 'As a result'. While the progression of ideas is generally logical, the connection between sentences could be smoother. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring they are used in a more natural, sophisticated way would enhance the flow of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using words like 'contemporary', 'professional', and 'diverse'. However, there are several instances of awkward collocations and word choice errors, such as 'making their travelling as well as professional journey great' and 'on the behalf of a native language'. These errors do not impede communication, but they do limit the precision of your expression. To reach a higher band, focus on learning common collocations and using more precise academic vocabulary to convey your ideas more effectively.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you attempt complex sentences, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with articles ('the german language'), subject-verb agreement, and prepositions ('learning a foreign language' vs 'a learning foreign language'). Punctuation is generally functional, but some sentence fragments or awkward phrasing occur, such as 'Prior to my stance both viewpoint are explained further'. The errors are noticeable but do not prevent the reader from understanding your main points. Focusing on basic grammatical accuracy and sentence construction will help improve your score.
