Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion. The ideas are relevant, such as the mention of cognitive development and cultural immersion. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat uneven. While the example regarding Japan is well-integrated, other points, such as the mention of 'rules and regulation' for international students, are slightly underdeveloped. The essay maintains a consistent position throughout, but the depth of analysis could be improved to reach a higher band by exploring the implications of the arguments more thoroughly rather than listing them.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is logically organized into clear paragraphs, each with a central theme. Cohesive devices such as 'Moreover,' 'Furthermore,' and 'To sum up' are used to guide the reader. However, there are instances where the flow is slightly mechanical or repetitive, such as the frequent use of 'Furthermore' and 'Moreover' to start sentences. Additionally, some referencing is slightly unclear, such as the phrase 'their history of their culture' which lacks a clear antecedent. Overall, the progression of ideas is logical, but the use of cohesive devices could be more varied and natural.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, with some attempts at less common items like 'indispensable,' 'robust,' and 'cognitive development.' However, there are noticeable inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'complete travel and work purpose' (should be 'purposes') and 'tourist countries' (should be 'tourist destinations'). Some phrasing is slightly awkward, such as 'the globalization is increasing at an alarming rate.' While the range is sufficient to convey meaning, the lack of precision in word choice prevents a higher score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, including missing articles ('the globalization,' 'in various country'), subject-verb agreement issues ('many individuals relocating to Japan often studies'), and punctuation errors (run-on sentences and missing commas). While these errors do not impede communication, they occur frequently enough to suggest a lack of control over more complex structures. To improve, focus on proofreading for basic errors like pluralization and article usage.
