Student answer (Band 5.0)
Those people says that the reason for learning a foreign language was travel or work in a foreign country was absolutely right because learning a foreign was mainly for travel or for a work in foreign countries. It need to communicate well or feel like local and learn the culture or many things about this country.
Example - If I want to go uk for work or travel so, i was to learn that language and culture for better work or travel support or communicate better in local language.
Those people who are saying these are not the only reasons why someone should learn a foreign language was also not right because if I not wanted travel or work in those countries so, I will not learn that language because it was not necessary .
Example - if I am not going uk so, there is no need of learning a language of foreign country.
In my opinion if someone who wanted to go foreign country for travel or work purposes so, learn the language but those who not wanted to go the in foreign country so, those people are no need to learn those language. It can be either learn universal language like english that is enough for that to travel in some countries. The travel was not important factor to learn the foreign language but if work in foreign country so, definitely you wanted to learn the foreign language because it helps to communicate well to peoples of that country.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt by discussing both views and providing an opinion. However, the development of ideas is limited and repetitive. The arguments lack depth, relying on simplistic examples such as 'if I am not going to the UK, there is no need to learn the language.' The response fails to explore broader benefits of language learning, such as cognitive development, cultural appreciation, or career advancement beyond travel. The position is clear, but the supporting arguments are underdeveloped, which prevents a higher score. To improve, you should expand on your points with more sophisticated reasoning and varied examples.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the progression of ideas is often mechanical and repetitive. Cohesive devices are used, but they are frequently inaccurate or misused, such as the repetitive use of 'if' and 'because' to link ideas. The referencing is sometimes unclear, and the flow between sentences feels disjointed. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words (e.g., 'furthermore,' 'consequently,' 'on the other hand') and ensure that each paragraph has a clear, singular focus that transitions logically to the next.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is basic and repetitive, often relying on the same words throughout the text (e.g., 'language,' 'travel,' 'work,' 'foreign'). There is a lack of flexibility and precision, and the word choice is often simplistic. Some phrases are unnatural, such as 'feel like local' instead of 'feel like a local.' The range is just adequate to convey the basic meaning, but it does not demonstrate the ability to use less common lexical items or idiomatic expressions. Expanding your vocabulary to include synonyms and more precise academic terminology is essential for improvement.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.5
The response contains frequent grammatical errors that often impede clarity. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'Those people says,' 'it need to communicate'), tense inconsistencies (e.g., 'the reason... was travel'), and sentence structure (e.g., 'if I not wanted travel'). The range of structures is very limited, consisting mostly of simple sentences with some faulty attempts at complex ones. Punctuation is also inconsistent. To improve, you must focus on mastering basic sentence construction, verb tense consistency, and subject-verb agreement before attempting more complex grammatical structures.
