Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The essay addresses both views and provides a personal opinion, meeting the basic requirements of the prompt. However, the development of ideas is limited. While you mention that learning a language helps with 'survival' and 'connections', the arguments are somewhat repetitive and lack depth. For instance, the link between language learning and preventing 'suicide thoughts' is an extreme claim that is not well-supported or relevant to the core topic of language acquisition. To improve, ensure each paragraph focuses on a distinct, well-explained reason rather than listing loosely connected ideas. The position is clear, but the supporting evidence needs to be more logical and academic in tone.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is organised into paragraphs, but the flow between and within them is often disjointed. You use some cohesive devices like 'Primarily', 'Secondly', and 'In contrast', but they are sometimes used incorrectly or do not logically connect the ideas that follow. For example, the transition 'In contrast, learning a language also feel harder' does not logically follow the previous sentence about culture. Additionally, the referencing is occasionally unclear, and the punctuation (such as the misuse of commas and capital letters in the middle of sentences) disrupts the flow, making it difficult for the reader to follow the progression of your argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is limited and often inaccurate, which frequently impedes communication. There are numerous spelling errors (e.g., 'suravive', 'sces', 'explosar', 'tearm', 'repelicates', 'intelligance', 'opportunitys', 'Simantenisaly', 'speclisitiy', 'trands', 'suside', 'strees'). Many words are used incorrectly in context, such as 'global country explosar' or 'stay healthy with circle'. To reach a higher band, you need to focus on accurate spelling and using words that collocate naturally in an academic context. You rely on basic vocabulary and struggle to express more complex ideas precisely.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.5
There is a lack of control over basic grammatical structures. You frequently omit articles (e.g., 'In present globalised world'), misuse verb tenses, and struggle with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'learning of language can improve', 'A person who learn'). Sentence structures are often fragmented or run-on, and the frequent misuse of capital letters in the middle of sentences is a significant issue. While you attempt some complex sentences, they are almost always marred by errors that make the meaning unclear. You need to focus on mastering simple, error-free sentences before attempting more complex grammatical structures.
