Student answer (Band 5.0)
It is often argue that foreign language is only important for travelling and working in abroad. While others believe that people can not learn a different language only for travel and work but also for other reasons. From my point of view, I think that people learns another language for so many purposes. This essay will examine both sides before explaining my opinion with relevant examples.
On the one hand, some people learns a language in order to communicate in work places or when they travel. For example, English is considered as a second language. Most of the people knows this language very well. So, when people goes to a second country to visit they have to communicate with locals. That is why, individuals try to use English just to talk with them. Besides, there are so many people who used to work in the international companies. For instance, to become a responsible employ they need a second language just to attend meetings and dealing with clients. So, these are the reasons why some people believe that.
On the other hand, many people use foreign language for study and working abroad. In recent days, very few students are trying to move another country for better quality education. To enroll in a different country they have to knows these countries language to understand the books and teachers lecture very well. Such as, to study in the Korea or Japan students needs Korean and Japanese very well and that is why people have to learn a different language.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses both views presented in the prompt, but the development is quite limited. While you mention that you have your own opinion, you fail to actually provide or explain it in the body paragraphs, which is a key requirement of the task. The arguments provided are somewhat repetitive, as the second paragraph focuses on travel and work, and the third paragraph also focuses on study and work abroad, failing to explore the 'other reasons' mentioned in the prompt (such as cognitive benefits or cultural appreciation). To improve, ensure you clearly state your opinion and provide distinct, well-developed arguments for each side of the debate.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the progression of ideas is weak. You use basic cohesive devices like 'On the one hand' and 'On the other hand', but the internal flow within paragraphs is often disjointed. For instance, the transition between the general statement about English and the specific point about international companies is abrupt. Additionally, some referencing is unclear, and the concluding paragraph is missing entirely, which significantly impacts the overall coherence of the response.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but remains quite basic and repetitive. You frequently use simple phrases like 'people learns' and 'a second language'. There are also several word-choice errors, such as 'working in abroad' (should be 'working abroad') and 'responsible employ' (should be 'responsible employee'). To reach a higher band, you should attempt to use a wider range of vocabulary, including less common lexical items and more precise collocations related to the topic of language acquisition and professional development.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text that occasionally impede clarity. Subject-verb agreement is a recurring issue, such as 'some people learns' instead of 'some people learn' and 'students needs' instead of 'students need'. You also struggle with article usage and prepositional phrases, such as 'move another country' (should be 'move to another country'). While you attempt some complex sentence structures, they are often marred by these persistent errors. Focusing on basic accuracy and proofreading for subject-verb agreement would significantly improve your score.
