Student answer (Band 5.0)

Nowadays, some people thinks that is only reason of learning foreign language to move in foreign country. Some people says this not the only reason of learning foreign language. I completely agree with this in this easy i will support my opinion with examples.

Firstly, I completely agreed with this statement mostly people learns foreign language to travel and study purpose to move abrode. what, I meant by this is that some countries have strict polices regarding his traditional language to grant visa. For instance my brother planned to study in france, but this is compulsory you can speak in french so he joined academy to learn this language.

Secondly, if you want to move in foreign country this is very helpful to learn his homeland language. It helps you to speak easily with people and hunt job easily. if we donot speak his traditional language we face many problems in living finding job. For example my brother moved to United Kingdome for job purpose he cannot speak properly english, he bears many problems.

Another reason why, I agree with this i we have a plan to travel foreign country to explore his historical places. Specifically, if we travel to America to visit his time square. so if we talk in english, So this is very postive point for us to enjoy this place and communicate with people.

In my opinion, i agree only those people wo have to travel and study in foreign. So learn his traditional language. To communicate and find job easily.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses both views, but the development is inconsistent. While you mention that learning a language is useful for travel and work, you fail to discuss the 'other reasons' mentioned in the prompt, such as cognitive benefits, cultural appreciation, or personal growth. Consequently, the essay is one-sided and does not fully explore the complexity of the task. Your position is stated but remains somewhat contradictory, as you argue for the importance of language for travel/work but do not acknowledge the alternative perspective required by the prompt. To improve, ensure you dedicate equal space to both sides of the argument before concluding.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay uses basic paragraphing and some cohesive devices like 'Firstly', 'Secondly', and 'In my opinion'. However, the progression of ideas is often unclear. The transition between sentences is frequently mechanical, and the use of referencing (e.g., 'his traditional language') is confusing, as it is unclear who 'his' refers to in many contexts. The logical flow is hindered by repetitive phrasing and a lack of sophisticated linking words. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of cohesive devices and ensure that pronouns clearly refer to the intended nouns.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and repetitive. You frequently use basic terms like 'learn', 'move', and 'job'. There are also persistent issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'move in foreign country' instead of 'move to a foreign country' and 'hunt job' instead of 'find employment'. Some phrases are awkward, such as 'his traditional language' when referring to a foreign language. To improve, you should expand your range of vocabulary to include more academic collocations and synonyms, and pay closer attention to the correct prepositional usage with verbs.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text that occasionally impede clarity. Subject-verb agreement is a recurring issue (e.g., 'some people thinks', 'mostly people learns'). There are also significant errors in article usage, sentence structure, and punctuation, such as the misuse of capital letters and fragmented sentences like 'what, I meant by this is that...'. While you attempt some complex structures, they are often inaccurate. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, subject-verb agreement, and the correct use of articles before attempting more complex grammatical forms.
