Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0
The response is significantly under the 250-word minimum requirement, which severely limits your ability to develop your ideas. You have introduced the topic and stated a position, but the essay stops abruptly after only 126 words. Because the response is incomplete, you have not addressed all parts of the task, such as providing a balanced discussion of both views or a fully supported conclusion. To improve, you must ensure you write at least 250 words, allowing space to fully explore both sides of the argument with relevant examples and a clear, extended personal opinion.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay shows some attempt at logical organization by using transition signals like 'On the one hand' and 'For instance'. However, because the text is incomplete and cuts off mid-sentence, the overall progression of ideas is interrupted. Paragraphing is present, but the lack of a complete structure makes it difficult to assess your ability to manage cohesion over a full essay. To improve, focus on completing your thoughts and using a wider variety of cohesive devices to link your sentences and paragraphs more fluidly.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
Your vocabulary is generally adequate for basic communication, using terms like 'beneficial choice', 'succeed their dream career', and 'communicate'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'contribute them to study' and 'another citizens'. The range of vocabulary is limited by the short length of the response. To reach a higher band, try to incorporate more precise academic vocabulary and ensure that your word choices are natural and contextually appropriate.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The response contains a mix of simple and some attempted complex structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('some argued that... individual learn') and incorrect verb forms ('succeed their dream career' instead of 'achieve their career goals'). Punctuation is also inconsistent. While the meaning is generally clear, these errors occur frequently. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement, correct verb tense usage, and proofreading for basic sentence structure errors.
