Student answer (Band 5.5)

Looking at the recent data, number of people learning foreign languages are overwhelmingly high due to their interest or maybe of other needs. In most of scenarios, it is believed that learning foreign language is being approached only in order to travel or work in a foreign country while, the other remaining claim that not the only reason of learning that. Definitely, understanding and speaking ability of foreign language has made much easier and convenient to go out of country for work and other purposes. However, learning these also facilitates the person to improvise communication ability, dealing with international personalities and also to go for study to explore and learn outer world. From my perspective, attempting to learn others' language might have various reasons rather than one.

Well globalization is increasing at higher rate and we are shrinking into the confined system. in this scenario, communication, interaction and sharing has been popular activities. In addition, understanding their culture, art and their entertainment sources also requires that ability. Moreover, lot of people have hobby also to learn multiple languages and their accent of speaking. For instance also, lot of people turn their into other language for getting connected with other countries people.

Well apart from all, the reason of that mainly remains travelling or foreign job in most of the cases. Trend of earning foreign currencies in increasing day by day in most of lower developing countries in search of the luxurious lifestyle and good income. Along with that, some also learn these for convenient in communication while they be in other places as tourists. This have helped a lot in these two fields too.

In summary, foreign language learning has been inclining at faster rate with time specifically for the job or travel to other country. T

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. For instance, while you mention globalization and hobbies as reasons for learning languages, these points are not fully explored or supported with detailed examples. The essay structure is present, but the conclusion is incomplete, ending abruptly with 'T'. To reach a higher band, ensure that each body paragraph provides a more in-depth analysis of the points raised rather than listing them. The position is clear, but the overall development lacks the depth required for a higher score.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the progression of ideas. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or slightly unnatural, such as the repetitive use of 'Well' to start paragraphs or 'For instance also'. Referencing is sometimes unclear, and the flow between sentences can feel disjointed. While the logical progression is generally maintained, the lack of a proper conclusion and the abrupt ending significantly impact the overall coherence of the piece. Improving the variety and precision of linking words will help create a smoother, more professional flow.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, such as 'globalization', 'confined system', and 'luxurious lifestyle'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'improvise communication ability' (instead of 'improve') and 'turn their into other language'. Some phrasing is repetitive, and the vocabulary lacks the precision and sophistication needed for higher bands. To improve, focus on learning collocations—words that naturally go together—and avoid using informal fillers like 'Well' at the beginning of academic paragraphs.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you attempt complex sentences, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('number of people... are', 'lot of people have hobby also') and incorrect article usage ('the other remaining claim', 'the reason of that'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma placement. These errors do not generally impede communication, but they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. Focus on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and ensuring that complex structures are used accurately.
