Student answer (Band 6.0)
Learning a foreign language can enhance your speaking capabilities to communicate with people from different countires. Some segment of group believe that travel and work are the only two key factors to consider to learn a foreign language. While some argue that these could not be the only two reasons. From my point of view, there are many other factors that should also be considered to learn a foreign language.
On one hand, some groups of people claim that most people learn a foreign language to fly to foreign places or to work abroad. Learning a foreign language can make it easier for them to adapt to the foreign country; therefore, they can communicate with the locals easily and can convey their message more effectively to them. This will result in exploring more opportunities. For instance, if someone learned German, he would have a high rate of visa acceptance; moreover, he could find a job easily in Germany.
on the other hand. Some people argue that these are not the only two reasons one should learn a foreign language. There are various other factors that also need to be acknowledged, such as communication skills and getting familiar with different cultures. Language is a significant tool to read and to understand a different culture. Therefore, many other factors should need to be considered to learn a foreign language.
In my opinion, individuals should not focus only on these two factors to learn a foreign language. Learning different languages can make your knowledge in-depth about different cultures and open doors for future development as well. Moreover, learning any foreign language can expand your communication skills. For instance, if a student knows to speak English, he can deliver his message easily to a native english speaker person.
In conclusion, some people believes that, people only learn foriegn language to visit aborad and to explore oppurtunities, while some argue that people should not only consider these two factors, many other factors should also be considered. In my opinion, people should learn foriegn language to enhance their communication skills and to get fimiliar with different cultures.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the prompt, discussing both views and providing a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat repetitive. For instance, the argument regarding 'communication skills' is mentioned in the body paragraph and again in the conclusion without significant expansion. While the position is clear, the supporting examples, such as the mention of learning German for visa purposes, are a bit simplistic. To reach a higher band, you should aim to explore the broader cognitive or social benefits of language learning in greater depth rather than repeating the same points about communication and culture.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas. You use cohesive devices such as 'On one hand,' 'Moreover,' and 'In conclusion' to link your thoughts. However, there are some mechanical errors in punctuation and sentence structure, such as the fragment 'on the other hand. Some people argue...' where a full stop is used incorrectly. Additionally, some transitions feel slightly repetitive, such as the frequent use of 'factors' to describe reasons. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring correct sentence boundary punctuation would enhance the flow.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to convey your meaning clearly. You use some relevant topic-specific vocabulary like 'native speaker' and 'in-depth.' However, there are several spelling errors throughout the text, such as 'countires,' 'foriegn,' 'aborad,' 'oppurtunities,' and 'fimiliar.' These errors are frequent enough to be noticeable. To improve, focus on proofreading for common spelling mistakes and try to incorporate more sophisticated collocations or academic vocabulary to demonstrate a wider range.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you attempt complex sentences, there are persistent errors in grammar and punctuation. For example, 'some people believes that' contains a subject-verb agreement error, and 'should need to be considered' is redundant. There are also issues with article usage and word order. While these errors rarely impede communication, they occur frequently enough to limit the score. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and refining your use of modal verbs will help improve your accuracy.
