Student answer (Band 5.0)
There are several languages existing in todays world. Learning new languages brings new challenges and excitement with knowledge. One can learn any language he/she wants but what is the need to learn different language? There are several reasons to learn languages like to work in different country or to travel or to increase general knowledge or to try and experience something new.
Some people says there only two main reason people are learning foreign language that are to travel or to work in the foreign country, I strongly agree with them. In this modern life where people are being so busy for their work, it is difficult to manage time for learning new language because learning a whole new language take much time and required much efforts. There are two reasons people travel to foreign country for work or for vacation so it will help them to understand the culture or way of living in the country by knowing its native language. For example,
Student travelling for studies it is mandatory to learn the language of that particular country that will help them to seek part time job or to communicate easily with the locals and do not face any difficulties. Another example is that people who travels learn new language to make the travel experience better by gaining ne experience.
On the other side, learning new language is not worthy if you are not applying it in your life and to apply or to perform it practically you need to travel to the foreign country.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt but fails to discuss both views adequately. While you mention that some people believe travel and work are the only reasons, you focus almost exclusively on supporting this view. The second perspective—that there are other reasons to learn a language—is largely ignored, with the final paragraph actually dismissing the idea that learning a language is 'worthy' without travel. This results in an unbalanced argument. To improve, ensure you dedicate a full paragraph to the 'other reasons' (such as cognitive benefits, cultural appreciation, or personal growth) to ensure all parts of the task are addressed with equal weight.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is divided into paragraphs, but the logical progression is weak. The transition between the introduction and the body paragraphs is abrupt. Cohesive devices are used, but they are often repetitive or used in a mechanical way, such as 'Another example is that' and 'On the other side'. The referencing is sometimes unclear, particularly in the final paragraph, which lacks a clear link to the preceding arguments. To improve, use a wider variety of linking words and ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence that guides the reader through your argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is generally limited and repetitive. You frequently use basic terms like 'reasons', 'people', and 'language'. There are also issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'learning a whole new language take much time and required much efforts' (should be 'takes' and 'requires'/'effort'). The phrase 'not worthy' is used incorrectly in the context of the argument. To achieve a higher band, you should aim to incorporate more precise vocabulary related to the topic, such as 'linguistic proficiency', 'career advancement', or 'cognitive development', and ensure that words are used in their correct grammatical form.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('Some people says', 'learning... take much time'), missing articles ('in todays world'), and awkward sentence structures ('There are two reasons people travel to foreign country for work or for vacation'). The range of sentence structures is limited, relying mostly on simple or compound sentences. To improve, focus on mastering basic subject-verb agreement and article usage. Additionally, try to incorporate more complex sentence structures, such as using relative clauses or conditional sentences, while ensuring they remain error-free.
