Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, reaching only 189 words. This significantly impacts the development of ideas. While the essay attempts to address both views, the arguments are superficial and lack the necessary depth or academic support required for Task 2. The personal opinion is mentioned but not clearly structured or integrated into a formal argument. The content is repetitive and relies on informal examples, such as 'spying', which does not contribute to a balanced discussion of the topic. To improve, you must expand your points with detailed explanations and relevant examples.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.0
The essay lacks a clear structure. There is no introduction or conclusion, and the ideas are presented in a single, disjointed paragraph. The use of cohesive devices is very limited and often inaccurate, such as the repetitive use of 'like' to introduce examples. The logical progression of ideas is difficult to follow because the sentences are not linked effectively. To improve, you should organize your essay into clear paragraphs: an introduction, two body paragraphs (one for each view), and a conclusion. Use transition words like 'furthermore', 'conversely', and 'consequently' to connect your thoughts.
Lexical Resource — Band 4.0
The vocabulary is basic and repetitive, which limits your ability to express complex ideas. There are frequent errors in word choice and spelling, such as 'batter' instead of 'better', 'on interest' instead of 'own interest', and 'pruide' instead of 'pride'. The range of vocabulary is insufficient for an academic task, as it relies heavily on simple, everyday language. To improve, focus on learning topic-specific vocabulary related to language acquisition and cultural exchange, and pay closer attention to spelling and word formation.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0
The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that often impede communication. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement, article usage, and sentence structure. For example, 'I am the persons who know' and 'whenever I became Bore' are grammatically incorrect. The sentence structures are mostly simple, and there is a lack of complex sentence forms. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with spaces missing before periods and commas. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, subject-verb agreement, and the correct use of articles and prepositions.
