Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, which significantly impacts the development of ideas. While the essay attempts to address both views, the arguments are underdeveloped and often repetitive. The position is unclear, and the reasoning is fragmented, making it difficult for the reader to follow the logic. The essay lacks sufficient supporting examples or depth, resulting in a superficial treatment of the prompt. To improve, you must expand on your points with specific examples and ensure you meet the length requirement to allow for full development of your arguments.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the logical progression is weak. The use of cohesive devices is mechanical and often inaccurate, such as the repetitive use of 'So' and 'Because' to start sentences. Referencing is frequently unclear, making it difficult to determine the relationship between ideas. For instance, the transition 'Second of all, other say that someone should learn a foreign language' does not effectively introduce a new perspective. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring each paragraph has a clear, unified focus will greatly enhance the coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 4.5

The vocabulary is very limited and repetitive, relying on basic words like 'people', 'money', and 'foreign country'. There are frequent errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'the wrong people say' and 'he should money for some needs'. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to express complex ideas or nuances required for an academic task. To achieve a higher score, you should focus on learning topic-specific vocabulary related to language learning and cultural exchange, and practice using synonyms to avoid repeating the same words throughout the text.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.5

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that often impede communication. Sentence structures are simple and often fragmented, such as 'Because many people who need for money.' There is a lack of complex sentence structures, and errors in subject-verb agreement, article usage, and word order are pervasive. For example, 'Some people wrong says that who learn a foreign language' is grammatically incorrect and confusing. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, including correct verb tenses and word order, before attempting more complex structures.
