Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response attempts to address both sides of the argument, but the ideas are significantly underdeveloped and often unclear. While you mention that some people learn languages for travel or work and others for different reasons, the explanation is fragmented. Your own opinion is stated, but it lacks sufficient supporting evidence or logical development. The arguments regarding 'better education' and 'economic strength' are repetitive and lack specific examples or coherent reasoning. To improve, ensure each paragraph focuses on a single clear idea, supported by a relevant example or explanation that directly links back to the prompt.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay lacks a clear logical progression. While there is an attempt at paragraphing, the transition between ideas is often abrupt or confusing. Cohesive devices are used in a very mechanical or inaccurate way, such as 'Moreover' and 'On the other way', which do not always fit the context of the sentences. The referencing is frequently unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow your argument. To improve, focus on using linking words more naturally and ensure that each sentence flows logically from the previous one.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is limited and often inaccurate, which frequently impedes communication. There are many instances of word-choice errors, such as 'spoting the families' (likely meaning supporting) and 'traditional is pleasant to environment'. You rely on a very basic range of words, and the misuse of terms makes it difficult to convey complex ideas. To improve, focus on learning common collocations and practicing the correct usage of academic vocabulary in context rather than using words that do not fit the intended meaning.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.5
The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that often distort the meaning. There are significant issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'a good student choice'), sentence structure (e.g., 'People could a educated'), and article usage. The range of structures is very limited, consisting mostly of simple, error-prone sentences. There is a lack of complex sentence construction, and the errors are pervasive throughout the text. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence patterns, ensuring correct verb tenses, and proofreading for fundamental errors in agreement and word order.
