Student answer (Band 5.0)
IN TODAY'S WORLD, THIS TOPIC OF THAT THE REASON FOR LEARING A FORGEIGN LANGUAGE IS SOMETHING THAT PEOPLE HAVE DIFFERENT OPINION . SOME PEOPLE SUPPORT ONE VIEW WHILE OTHER PEOPLE SUPPORT DIFFERENT VIEW. THIS ESSAY WILL EXPLAIN THE BOTH SIDES OF ARGUMENT. IN MY OPINION, I ARGUE THAT FIRST VIEW IS MORE REASONABLE AND LOGICAL.
ONE MAJOR REASON THAT MOSTLY INDIVIUALS LEARNING A FOREIGN LANGUAGE BECAUSE THAT TO TRAVEL SOME COUNTRIES. FOR EXMAPLE, SOME LEARNES PERPARE IELTS AND FOREIGN LANGUAGE FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDY IN VARIOUS COUNTRIES. FOR A RESULT , SOME ADULTS TAKE A IELTS TEST FOR WORK PURPOSE . FURTHERMORE, SOME BUSINESS WOMAN'S LEARNING FOREIGN LANGUAGE BECAUSE SHE GOING TO TRAVEL FOR VARIOUS COUNTRIES.
IN ADDITION, SOME BUSINESS MEN'S LEARNING A FOREIGN LANGUAGE BECAUSE HE GOING TO TRAVEL AND IN ORDER TO WORK IN FOREIGN COUNTRIES. THEREFORE, THIS IS BENEFICAL FOR THR YOUTH AND SOCITEY .
ON THE OTHER HAND PEOPLE ARGUE ITS IS NOT ONLY REASONS . FOR INSTANCE, SOME PEOPLE LEARN FOR THE FOREIGN LANGUAGE BECAUSE THAT IT HAS SOME KNOWLEDGE ABOUT THIS. CONSEQEUNTLY, SOME FAMILY MEMBER GO TO ABROAD THE ONE MAIN REASON LEARN THESE LANUSGES BECAUSE YOU HAVE KNOWLEDGE AND TALK TO THE RELATIVES. MOREOVER,SOME PEOPLE HOBBIES TO LEARNING EVERY LANGUAGE.
IN CONCLUSION, AFTER DISCSSING BOTH SIDES . ITS PROVE THAT BENEIFATS ARE GREATER IN BOTH SIDES . IN MY OPINION FIRST VIEW IS VERY LOGICAL, BECAUSE EVERYONE HAVE NOT MONEY TO EXTRA PAY FOR TUTORS FOR THE LEARN THESE LANGUAGE . THEREFORE I BELIEVE FIRST VIEW ARE GREATER BENEFICAL THAN SECOND VIEW.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a personal opinion, meeting the basic requirements of the prompt. However, the development of ideas is limited and repetitive. For example, the arguments regarding travel and work are restated across multiple sentences without adding depth or nuance. The conclusion attempts to justify the opinion but relies on a weak argument about the cost of tutors, which is not clearly linked to the prompt's core debate. To improve, you should focus on extending your ideas with specific, logical explanations rather than simply listing examples.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. Phrases like 'For a result' and 'Therefore, this is beneficial for the youth and society' are used in ways that do not logically connect the preceding ideas. Additionally, the referencing is sometimes unclear, such as in the final paragraph where the connection between the cost of tutors and the preference for the first view is not well-articulated. Improving the variety and accuracy of linking words will help the flow of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is limited and repetitive, often relying on basic terms like 'reason', 'learn', and 'foreign language'. There are frequent spelling errors, such as 'learing', 'forgeign', 'indiviuals', 'perpare', 'socitey', and 'discssing', which occasionally make the text difficult to read. While the meaning is generally conveyed, the range of vocabulary is insufficient to express complex ideas effectively. To reach a higher band, you should focus on learning collocations and more precise academic vocabulary, while also paying closer attention to spelling accuracy.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.5
The essay contains a high frequency of grammatical errors, including subject-verb agreement issues ('some business woman's learning', 'everyone have not money'), article misuse, and incorrect sentence structures. Many sentences are fragmented or lack proper punctuation. While there is an attempt to use complex structures, they are almost always faulty, which hinders clarity. To improve, you must focus on the basics of sentence construction, specifically ensuring that subjects and verbs agree and that articles are used correctly. Reducing the complexity of your sentences until you have mastered basic accuracy will help improve your score.
