Student answer (Band 5.5)
In the modern era, it has become necessary for people to learn foreign languages. A large number of people think in order to move abroad and work in other countries, it is absolutely necessary to know the language of country. While some people believe even if you don't want to relocate and work in different country knowing different languages help people in different ways. in this essay I shall discuss both point of views before presenting a logical conclusion.
First of all, these days it has become common notion among people to relocate towards more developed countries for better career opportunities so that is why it is necessary to know the language in order to mingle in the atmosphere. For instance, someone move to Canada from Pakistan. In Pakistan, Urdu is a national language and people commonly speak Urdu but if someone is moving to Canada he should learn English in order to survive in Canada.
On the other hand, there are individuals who think moving or working to other country is not the only reason one should learn a foreign language. They believe learning different languages is beneficial for one's personal growth. People who are fond of learning keeps on learning new things and language is one of them.
In my opinion, learning a foreign language is necessity for moving and working in different setting. to exemplify, these days people work remotely from their comforts of home but for that learning a foreign language is very important.
In conclusion, foreign language help people work with people of different countries if they are working remotely. Moreover, if you are moving to other country, it will help you a great deal.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses both views and provides an opinion, but the development is uneven. While the first view regarding relocation is supported with a clear example, the second view regarding personal growth is underdeveloped and lacks specific supporting evidence. The opinion provided in the fourth paragraph is somewhat repetitive of the first view rather than offering a distinct perspective on the broader benefits of language learning. To reach a higher band, you should ensure that both sides of the argument are explored with equal depth and that your own opinion is clearly articulated and supported by specific, relevant examples.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organised into paragraphs, and there is a logical progression of ideas. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and occasionally repetitive. For example, the transition 'First of all' and 'On the other hand' are standard, but the internal flow within paragraphs could be improved by using a wider variety of linking words. Referencing is generally clear, but some sentences feel disconnected due to a lack of sophisticated transition. Improving the variety of cohesive devices and ensuring smoother transitions between sentences would enhance the overall flow.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. You rely on common phrases such as 'better career opportunities' and 'personal growth'. While these are accurate, there is little attempt to use less common or more sophisticated vocabulary. There are also minor issues with word choice, such as 'mingle in the atmosphere' (which is not a standard collocation in this context) and 'necessity for moving' (should be 'a necessity'). Expanding your vocabulary to include more precise academic collocations would significantly improve your score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with articles ('the language of country', 'moving to other country') and subject-verb agreement ('People who are fond of learning keeps on learning'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with some missing commas and capitalization issues. While these errors do not generally impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on article usage and ensuring subject-verb agreement would lead to more accurate writing.
