Student answer (Band 5.0)
more and more people belive that, moste reason to learn foreign language its for travelong or getting jobs, when others seeing it is not the only reason to learn another language, this essay we analyse this topic from both points of view and express my opinion.
first of all, learning a forigen language for getting jobs or for travelling it is very important for this two reasons. What i mean when u travel to another conty you mast to know they language for getting you own means. In addition to get the job that you need, of course you mast to know thier laguage to understand what you have to do exactly in you job. For example my cousin get job eassly because hi know italian language.
In other hand, ther is a lot of reasons puch you to learn another languages. A study published by New York university in 2020, 90% of people who spoke a lot of languages whre can know everythings in any contys they go and also can be more comfortable with thier citizens. For instance my brother go to travel five conty this year, he didn't have any problem in housing or transportation, even in restaurant.
In conclusion, there are no easy answer to this question. On balance, however o tend to belive that learn languages has a big blace in our life, that's why we sholde to learn not only for work or travel but also to make descussion with other people not from your country.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses both views and provides an opinion, fulfilling the basic requirements of the prompt. However, the development of ideas is limited and somewhat superficial. For example, the argument regarding travel and work is supported by a very brief personal anecdote, and the second body paragraph relies on a vague reference to a study and another personal example. The position is clear, but the explanation lacks the depth and academic tone required for a higher band. The ideas are relevant but under-developed, leading to a response that meets the task requirements but does not fully explore the implications of the topic.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate, such as 'In other hand' instead of 'On the other hand' and 'first of all' used in a way that feels repetitive. The progression of ideas is sometimes hindered by awkward phrasing and a lack of sophisticated linking words. While the essay is coherent enough to be understood, the transitions between sentences and paragraphs are not always smooth, and referencing is occasionally unclear, which limits the flow of the argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is limited and repetitive, often relying on basic words like 'get', 'know', and 'things'. There are frequent spelling errors throughout the text, such as 'belive', 'moste', 'travelong', 'forigen', 'contys', and 'sholde'. These errors, combined with the limited range of vocabulary, make the writing feel simplistic. While the student attempts to use some topic-specific vocabulary, the lack of precision and the high frequency of spelling mistakes prevent the response from reaching a higher band. The student needs to focus on expanding their range of synonyms and improving spelling accuracy.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a high frequency of grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement ('my cousin get job'), article usage, and sentence structure ('moste reason to learn foreign language its for travelong'). The student relies heavily on simple sentence structures, and attempts at more complex sentences often result in errors, such as 'there are no easy answer to this question' or 'that's why we sholde to learn'. The control of grammar is weak, and punctuation is inconsistent, which significantly impacts the overall quality of the writing.
