IELTS Writing Task 2 question
Some people say that the only reason for learning a foreign language is in order to travel to or work in a foreign country. Others say that these are not the only reasons why someone should learn a foreign language.
Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.
Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.
Student answer (Band 5.0)
Some people argue that learning a froeign language is just vital for working and travelling abroad.On the other hand,some think that there are also other reasons too , why someone should learn the foreign languages.As far I am concerned learning a foreign language is equally important for work,study ,travel and business as well.
During travelling abroad, people meet with the foreigners therefore it is essential to understand them.It is only possible when you will be able to communicate with them.Moreover, in order to understand global cultures it is really crucial to know about local languages of particular locations all over the world.In addition to that, language is also quite essential for work purpose.During work you need to understand the command of supervisors that is why it is highly recommended to learn foreign languages.
More over there are some others reasons as well, for example if someone wants to study abroad, one will have to understand the respective language.Nowadays, there are many researches where different scientists are working together.Therefore, f better quality of understaning one must learn about several languages.There are also many companies which are running global businesses.At such working place it really essential to understand one another.
In a nut shell, learning a foreign language not only essential for work and travel, but also necessary for the studies and business,Moreover, It is equally important for understanding the diversified cultures.It also improves the communication skills.
