Student answer (Band 4.5)
Few persons tell that the only fact of studing a international language is for the purpose of trip or job in other nations. It is nolt only a language it can attain the culture of any nation.
In this essay we will discuss about the benifits of international languages.first is that any language that we learn is not only language it have culture behind it. if we learn any language it may include english, punjabi or any any other language you can also learn their cultures if aperson has any intrest to know about the different culture firstly they must be learn its languages. For instance my sir wanted to know about the culture of japan, e is very intrested in it so for thid purpose he learned japan language.
But the mostly peope only learn the other country language for a journey of this country or for the purpose of employment they has a aim go to forigen country for working or for studing so the started to learning about the international language.for example some people wanted to go abroad for styuding for this purpose they started to learn english language and after the perperation they give a test of IELTS which give tjem help for the visa.
In my opnion they all are right because some peope has interest in a international language to seek them. But some as aim to learn language of other country and go abroad for study some as aim to go abroad for job. So i think they all are right

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt by discussing both views—that foreign languages are learned solely for travel or work, versus cultural exploration—and provides a personal opinion at the end. However, the development of ideas is limited and repetitive. For instance, the discussion on culture is quite brief and supported by a vague anecdotal example ("my sir wanted to know about the culture of japan"). The conclusion simply reiterates that everyone is right without deeper synthesis or extension. While all parts of the task are touched upon, the arguments remain underdeveloped, corresponding to the Band 5 descriptor where ideas are limited and basic positions are not fully explored.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.5
The essay attempts a logical structure with an introduction, body paragraphs addressing both views, and a conclusion. However, paragraphing is poorly executed; the first two sentences are separated from the rest of the body, and the second paragraph runs multiple distinct ideas together without clear transitions. Cohesive devices are minimal, mechanical, or misused (e.g., "first is that", "for thid purpose"). Referencing is sometimes unclear, such as pronoun shifts that make it difficult to follow who is being referred to. There is a lack of overall progression, fitting the characteristics of Band 4 to 5, where information and ideas are not smoothly arranged.
Lexical Resource — Band 4.0
The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, frequently revolving around words like "language", "culture", "country", and "foreign". There are numerous spelling errors throughout the text, such as "studing" for studying, "nolt" for not, "benifits" for benefits, "aperson" for a person, "intrest" for interest, "japan" for Japanese, "peope" for people, "forigen" for foreign, "perperation" for preparation, and "opnion" for opinion. While the writer attempts less common vocabulary like "employment", these lexical inadequacies and frequent spelling mistakes noticeably strain the reader and impede clear communication, placing the response firmly in Band 4.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.5
The writing relies heavily on simple sentences and basic structures. Attempts at complex sentences are almost uniformly faulty, featuring persistent grammatical errors such as missing articles, incorrect verb forms, run-on sentences, and subject-verb agreement issues (e.g., "Few persons tell that", "if aperson has any intrest... firstly they must be learn its languages", and "they has a aim go to forigen country"). Punctuation is largely neglected, with missing capitalisation at the beginnings of sentences and proper nouns like "japan" and "IELTS". These frequent errors cause considerable difficulty for the reader and reflect a limited grammatical range and accuracy.
