Student answer (Band 5.0)
Learning foreign language is delibrately has long been a interesting subject of debate. Mostly people learn foreign languge due to special reasons like they have to travel to foreign country but on the other hand it's not only a reason to learn non-native language. Some people learn foreign language due to their strong interest to learn another language so they become multilingual in languages and some people learn it just for the sake of high salary job required a special language certificate no matter it's in country or out of country. While opinions remain divided, I firmly contend that learning a foriegn language decision relies mostly on purpose.
The foremost justification lies in the fact that a dedication and interest to learn new language is most necessary to learn new language consistently. Beyond this it is important to recognize the ability of a person to learn new language totally different from native language. This is best illustrated by the Dr. Zakir Naik who has been learned almost 12 languages delibrately not due to travel but also he has a strong interest to learn new languages. This can primarily attributed to their inner speacialities which allow them to outperform many of their peers. This in turn gives rise to communication skills and contact with foriegn people .For these reasons I firmly convinced that travel to or work in a foregn language are indeed big reasons to learn foreign language but a strong interest and personal reason can make it easy to learn.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt, discussing the views that foreign languages are learned solely for travel or work, as well as alternative reasons such as personal interest. The writer presents a clear position, stating that the decision relies mostly on purpose. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and repetitive. For instance, the example of Dr. Zakir Naik is introduced to illustrate personal interest, but the explanation remains underdeveloped and slightly unclear due to awkward phrasing ('inner speacialities'). While all parts of the task are addressed, the ideas would benefit from deeper elaboration and clearer supporting examples to reach a higher band. Consequently, this performance aligns best with the Band 5 descriptors.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is divided into an introduction and a main body paragraph, which represents a very minimal paragraphing structure. Ideas are somewhat organized, but the progression is disjointed. There is a lack of clear overall progression, and cohesive devices are frequently inadequate or inaccurate. For example, transition phrases like 'Beyond this' and 'This can primarily attributed to' are misused or awkwardly constructed. Furthermore, referencing is occasionally unclear, such as pronoun usage in 'This can primarily attributed to their inner speacialities'. The mechanical and repetitive nature of the cohesion places this response firmly at Band 5.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is limited and repetitive throughout the response. The student frequently repeats basic phrases such as 'learning foreign language', 'foreign country', and 'learn new language'. There are also noticeable spelling and word choice errors, such as 'delibrately', 'languge', 'foriegn', and 'speacialities'. While the vocabulary is minimally adequate to convey the basic topic, the frequent errors and restricted range cause some difficulty for the reader and prevent the text from achieving a higher score. This meets the criteria for Band 5.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0
The response displays a very limited range of grammatical structures, and attempts at complex sentences are frequently faulty. There are persistent errors in basic grammar, subject-verb agreement, and punctuation. Examples include 'Learning foreign language is delibrately has long been a interesting subject', 'job required a special language certificate', and 'has been learned almost 12 languages delibrately'. These frequent errors often cause difficulty for the reader and obscure the meaning of the sentences. Control over complex sentence forms is weak, placing the response at Band 4.
