IELTS Writing Task 2 question
Some people say that the only reason for learning a foreign language is in order to travel to or work in a foreign country. Others say that these are not the only reasons why someone should learn a foreign language.
Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.
Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.
Student answer (Band 5.0)
It is irrefutable that learning foreign language has become matter of a great debate around the globe.Therefore,there are numerous individuals who think that learning foreign languages is great oppurtunity to travel different countries while some are opposite regarding this.This essay intends to discuss both perspectives along with my view.
On the one hand,learning a foreign language is great source to travel through different countries due to more avalibilities and more oppurtunities.Because people who travel overseas taking many benefits by learning different language,it helps them to communicate and understand about different concern.For example,if people want to stay in a specific country,it is very nessecery to learn common language of that country without learn that language, they do not able to live there.Hence,it is great thing to live there by learn language.
On other hand,some people not satisfied with that reason.Because traveling overseas not only reason to learn different language.Since individual work in their offices or institutes ,it helps them to communicate with different background people and maintaince their understanding.For example,some people or client are come from different culture and different mother tongue ,leaning new language helpful for making understanding.Thus,it helps them to better understanding with their team members.
From my ideology,someone should learn different language for different reasons.Because of productivity at work.Since,individual work hard to boost their performance,learning language is a key to more oppurtunities at their work places.Consequentely,it is significant thing to get more valuable resources and more payments in jobs.Hence,it is great development to their jobs level.
In epilogue,althought learning different language is great for travel through different countries,communication and more job avalibilities are more powerful reason for learning new languages.
