IELTS Writing Task 2 question
Some people say that the only reason for learning a foreign language is in order to travel to or work in a foreign country. Others say that these are not the only reasons why someone should learn a foreign language.
Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.
Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.
Student answer (Band 4.5)
well this statement is not totally right that some people learn foreign langauge in order to travel to or work in a foreign country everyone has their own future planning and goals and some wants to build their future as a language instructor in their same country or maybe some wants to do this for their hobby or to follow their passion as well because as we see the translators o foreign language has a bright future and they paid well for their services.
Furthermore if we are talking about these are not the only reasons why someone should learn a foreign language is also not get more attention because more people nowadays are learning foreign language for their upcoming immigration deadline some wants to go to abroad for their further studies and they have to learn the language for the survival in that country and for long term also so they totally depend on the people to people what they want to do in their life and what they have goals in life for example someone have to go to canada and the primary language for survival in canada is english so they have to learn english for their survival only but if we are talking about the permanent residency the goverment made a rule that you have to learn french for that in that case the same student have no choice they are in a situtation where they have to learn french for their long term and their bright future as well so in my opinion the both conditions are vary on person to person.
