Student answer (Band 5.0)
Many individuals claim that the only cause of studying international language is either for job in a abraod country or to explore that country. The opponents believe that these are not the only facts why others should learn a non native language. Overall, we discuss the both points why it is necessary and tell why i believe that aqquiring foreign language is beneficial apart from applying aboard or to travel.
Firstly, stating non native language is very useful when an individual is having a job at other countries or planning to travel. It makes them to communicate with clients, employees or collegues in a better way. Also when a person study other languages they get familiar to their customs and systems which might be helpful to them. In tours to other countries they can communicate in the native language of the country peoples also it is very easier to them to learn the environment and conciniently can have better job opportunities in other countires.
Secondly, opponents claims that it is not the only reason we should aqquire other countries languages can give advantage to personal growth and have communication skills. It is useful for other reasons too that it can give oppurtunities to have more achievements and also it is a perosnal achievement also. For instance, individual learning chinese, french can have interest in learning their culture too which migh be helpful for them.
In my opinion, learning language is extraordinary beneficial for travel and job internationaly but aslo it is individual self growth to be fluent in and it gives greater stance to have more goals and achievements in future.
In conclusion, i must claim that we should learn other languages prior of the travel or study base but also make this peronal growth. It might help in having basic knowledge about other cultures which can make a great increase in personal knowledge.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both views—that foreign languages are solely for travel/work and that there are broader reasons—while also providing a personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is limited and somewhat repetitive. For instance, the discussion on personal growth and cultural understanding in the second body paragraph remains superficial and relies on generalisations ('individual learning chinese, french can have interest in learning their culture too'). The stance is stated throughout the text, but the supporting arguments lack depth and clear elaboration. Based on the descriptors, this performance aligns best with Band 5.0.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The essay displays some overall organisation, with an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. However, the progression of ideas is frequently disrupted by awkward transitions and unclear referencing. For example, the sentence 'Overall, we discuss the both points...' reads like a meta-statement rather than a natural cohesive link. Paragraphing is attempted, but internal cohesion is often faulty or mechanical, with repetitive use of connectors like 'Also' and 'Secondly'. Furthermore, referencing pronouns are sometimes ambiguous, making the flow difficult to follow at times. These features correspond to a Band 5.0 performance.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The student uses a limited but minimally adequate range of vocabulary for the task, with frequent attempts at less common words that result in noticeable errors. Examples include 'international language', 'abraod country', 'aqquiring', 'conciniently', and 'aqquire'. These errors in word choice, spelling, and word formation ('extraordinary beneficial' instead of 'extraordinarily beneficial') occasionally cause difficulty for the reader and impede smooth communication. While the writer manages to convey the general message, the density of lexical errors places this response firmly in the Band 5.0 category.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The writing demonstrates a limited range of grammatical structures, relying heavily on simple sentences alongside frequent, faulty attempts at complex forms. There are persistent errors in basic grammar, subject-verb agreement, and prepositions throughout the text, such as 'cause of studying', 'stating non native language', 'person study', and 'prior of the travel'. Punctuation is also weak, with run-on sentences and comma splices ('...of the travel or study base but also make this peronal growth'). These frequent errors frequently cause difficulty and strain for the reader, matching the Band 5.0 descriptors.
