IELTS Writing Task 2 question

Some people say that the only reason for learning a foreign language is in order to travel to or work in a foreign country. Others say that these are not the only reasons why someone should learn a foreign language.

Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.

Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

Student answer (Band 5.5)

Many of the people state that, the cause to learn the foreign speech is to travel or to do the job in the internattional countries, where others state that, these are not the only reason for the same.Learning internatinal language can be useful when we travel out of the country or in the case where we work in a company on the other hand, it's also helpful for the people to improve there language profeciency and gives us confidence.

When people visit different countries, langauge is the most important part which comes in between. Communication is an part which we need to know about different things or ask for any help. If we are unaware about the language they use, we will not able to communicate ans we need to help ourselves for everything.Moreover, when working professionally, we need to have meetings with our colllegue or we need to have a chat with team members which would be difficult task if we don't know about there native language.

On the other hand, keeping travelling and work apart, learning foreign language helps us have command on different languages, which improves our language proficiency. It also helps boost our confidence dramatically. We evovle as a better person and we will be an beetter person than before. We can read different books, watch movies of different language as well.

We can also connect with many different people, interact with them, make new friends.

In conclusion, some part of people state that, only reason to learning a language which is used in other countries is to travel and work whereas, others think that, this are not the onnly reason for the same. In my opinion, learning international langaguges are helpful to travel and to work despite, this helps boost our confidence and develop language profeciency.
