IELTS Writing Task 2 question
Some people say that the only reason for learning a foreign language is in order to travel to or work in a foreign country. Others say that these are not the only reasons why someone should learn a foreign language.
Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.
Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.
Student answer (Band 5.0)
Some people argue that the only reason for learning a foreign language is in order to travel to or employment in a foreign country. On the other hand, some believe that these are not the only reasons why someone should learn a foreign language. I believe there a lots of reasons for learning foreign language, is to communicate and share our thought to other language speakers.
Some people believe that the reasons for learning other language is inn order to travel to or work in other country, which help them to communicate and share their ideas and knowledge to foreign people. Foreign language also help to get employment opportunities, because some companies hire someone who speak foreign language especially English. Also help to understand their culture, cusiens and traditions. For instance, in workplace you meet many collgue who speak differnt language, if you only know your mother language only you can not communicate with others.
On the other hand, some people argue that work or travel is not only the reason, because many students learn foreign language. Foreign language especially English because it is famous worldwide and spoke by many people around the world. Many student learn other language in order to communicate to people and understand the topics. Some also learn to show superity, while other like to learn due to their learning habits. Nowadays, everyone in the world are learning foreign language to communicate with other religious and language people.
In summary,I strongly believe there are many reasons form different perspective.The main reasons for learning foreign language especially English for communication, work purpose and study purpose.
