Student answer (Band 5.5)
A skill that every person needed to learn is foreign language. There are some people who thing that learning a foreign language only in case if you have to travel to or work in other country while other people say that aside of travel or work, there are other reasons to learn languages. I believe that, it helped us to stronger our communication and open vaious ways of learning.
On the one hand, foreign language can be helpful in traveling or working in foregin country. As, you travel through different contry or you have to work in foreign country then majority people are there would be native. Such as in USA, there are 85% native citizens. They communicate with each other in their own language which may create language barrier for you. In this way, it may lose your confidence and you get not enough knowledge in compare to if you know that language. I disagree with this point because these are limited benefits that a person get but aside from it he gets numerous benefits.
On the other hand, leaning other country languages help in communication and open doors of knowledge. If you knew other languages then you felt ease to communicate with other countries people and may get something important from them. Additionally, huge amount of knowledge material are present in various languages which only be useful for those who actually knew or understand that language. Otherwise, it will be complete waste for you and you lost very important part of knowledge. With these people i completly agree they see the benefits of a skill in broader prespectives not in some limits or conditions.
In conclusion, people must need to learn foreign language by not only having thought that it only be help if i needed to travel or work in other country. They have in their minds that it help in my communication and open different oppertunities of learning.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
The response addresses all parts of the prompt by discussing both views—that learning a foreign language is only for travel/work, and that there are broader reasons—while providing a personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and repetitive. For instance, the discussion around travel and work relies heavily on basic assertions regarding the USA population and percentages, rather than deeper exploration. The student's position is stated, but the support lacks depth and extension, preventing the essay from reaching higher band levels. It aligns best with Band 5.5 to 6.0 descriptors for Task Achievement, specifically showing relevant ideas that are under-developed.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The essay has a recognisable overall structure with four distinct paragraphs, including an introduction, two body paragraphs representing opposing views, and a conclusion. Transitional markers such as 'On the one hand', 'On the other hand', and 'In conclusion' are used to signpost the arguments. However, cohesion is frequently mechanical and sometimes faulty. Referencing is occasionally unclear, as seen in phrases like 'With these people i completly agree they see...', where clause boundaries blur. Paragraphing is present, but internal logical progression is disjointed in places due to awkward phrasing and limited cohesive devices.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is adequate for communicating basic ideas, but it lacks range and precision. There are numerous word choice and form errors, such as 'thing' instead of 'think', 'other country' instead of 'other countries', 'stronger' instead of 'strengthen', and 'vaious' instead of 'various'. The student attempts less common vocabulary like 'prespectives' and 'oppertunities', but these contain spelling errors and inaccurate collocations. While meaning is generally conveyed, the lexical limitations and repetitive errors restrict the score to Band 5.0.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The essay displays a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, though attempts at complex structures frequently result in grammatical errors. Examples include 'A skill that every person needed to learn is foreign language' (missing article) and 'As, you travel through different contry or you have to work in foreign country then majority people are there would be native.' Punctuation and verb tense agreement are inconsistent throughout the text, with errors such as 'he gets numerous benefits' and 'it helped us to stronger our communication'. These frequent errors occasionally cause difficulty for the reader.
