Student answer (Band 4.5)
Some people say that we only need to learn foregin language when you are to others countries for travel or work. But any make not think in this way to we going to discuss boht point of view .
In my opinion i think the person is free and they have time to do something so thats noa bad idea if they learn foregin language it might be helpfull for them in the future . and if you travelling them to need to know some basic different language in which you donot need any type transalate for yorself and if they think that its a waste of time then many people donot agree with them because through this you can learn much more and if you going foreign for study or work then you can easily apply in unversities and thats counts a good points and also increase your conformation percent more than before
and many people that study or travel is not only the reason they can learn foreign language they are exactly right if they throught that those are not the only reason because if you can learn languages you can teach other and that can be helpful for your job because many people want learn languages and many countries have there teaching insitute you can easily apply for a job .and in my experience you always need to know multiple type of languages not to much but 5 6 different languages for need to know that a apportunity for youself and your family . it can increase you talking ability .

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
The response addresses the task only partially, as the ideas are limited and under-developed. While the student attempts to discuss both views regarding the reasons for learning a foreign language, the position is not always clear, and the arguments lack sufficient elaboration and relevant support. For example, the mention of learning languages to teach others or to travel is stated briefly without being fully extended. To reach a higher level, the writer needs to present a clearer, more developed position throughout the essay, ensuring that each main idea is supported with detailed explanations and concrete examples rather than brief, generalized statements.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0
The information and ideas are not arranged coherently, reflecting significant organizational weaknesses. There is a lack of clear overall progression, and the logical flow between sentences and paragraphs is frequently disrupted. Cohesive devices are either inadequate, inaccurate, or missing entirely, making the connections between ideas mechanical or confusing. For instance, transitions between thoughts rely heavily on repetitive conjunctions like 'and' and 'if', without effective signposting. To improve in this area, the writer should structure the response into distinct paragraphs with clear topic sentences and use a wider range of appropriate cohesive devices to guide the reader smoothly through the argument.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
The vocabulary used is limited and repetitive, with noticeable errors that may cause some difficulty for the reader. The writer relies on basic terms and makes frequent errors in word form, spelling, and word choice, such as 'foregin' instead of 'foreign', 'transalate' instead of 'translate', and 'unversities' instead of 'universities'. Collocations are also weak, for example, 'increase your conformation percent'. To progress to a higher band, the writer must expand their lexical range by incorporating less common vocabulary accurately, improving spelling control, and ensuring that word choices match the intended academic context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The response displays a very limited range of structures, with frequent errors that can cause difficulty for the reader. Simple sentence forms dominate, and attempts at more complex structures are often faulty, leading to distorted or unclear meaning. There are widespread errors in verb forms, tenses, subject-verb agreement, and punctuation, such as in 'we going to discuss boht point of view' and 'in my opinion i think the person is free and they have time'. To achieve a better score, the writer needs to demonstrate a greater variety of sentence structures, maintain accurate grammatical control over basic and complex forms, and reduce the frequency of fundamental syntax errors.
