Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You address the topic by discussing travel and work as reasons for learning a language, and you also mention communication and study as broader motivations. Your personal example about planning to study in Germany is relevant and helps show why German would be useful to you. However, the two views are not clearly explained as contrasting arguments: the response mostly repeats that language is needed to communicate, and the view that learning is worthwhile for reasons beyond travel or work is not developed with distinct examples. Your own position is also difficult to identify because the opening says the first view is “not the correct answer,” while the conclusion mainly restates that there are multiple reasons. State your opinion directly and support each view with a separate, developed reason.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0
There is an attempt to organise the response into an opening, discussion, personal example and conclusion, and the Germany example gives the essay a recognisable focus. However, progression between ideas is difficult to follow because several points are repeated within very long, loosely connected sentences. For example, the first body paragraph moves from travel to work, communication, delivery workers and gaining information without clear links or development. Connectors such as “that why” and “And the another point of view” are repeated and do not always show the relationship between ideas accurately. Use separate paragraphs for each view, then your opinion, and make each paragraph develop one main point with clear referencing and transitions.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
Your vocabulary is sufficient to communicate the general subject, with relevant terms such as “communicate,” “foreign language,” “masters” and “supermarkets.” However, the range is basic and highly repetitive: “foreign language” and “learn” recur throughout, while several phrases are imprecise or difficult to understand, including “delivery peoples,” “servey in the foreign country” and “the foreign companys.” Spelling errors such as “langauge,” “chossing” and “coauching” also reduce accuracy. These limitations sometimes make the reader work to infer your meaning. Build a more precise set of topic phrases, such as “study abroad,” “employment opportunities,” “interact with local residents” and “access everyday services,” and check spelling and word forms carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt to express reasons and examples, but sentence structures are mostly simple or joined into long run-on sentences, and grammatical errors frequently make relationships between ideas unclear. For instance, “Some people believe that to learn the foreign language we want to travel or work” lacks a clear grammatical structure, while “most of the people in the foreign they dont know” has problems with sentence construction and agreement. There are also recurring errors with articles, verb forms and sentence boundaries, as in “most of the supermarkets in the german are spoken.” Try building shorter, complete sentences first, then practise controlled complex forms using “because,” “although” and “for example.” Check each sentence for a clear subject and verb, correct tense, and appropriate punctuation.
