Student answer (Band 5.0)
Communication is one of the most important feature to share your opinions in public. Language barrier is key hurdle to stop an individual to communicate frequently. At global level, language not only help us to communicate but also give us a sense of comfort and confidence.
Learning a foreign language is neccessary because it makes an individual elligible to travel abroad or to work in a foreign country. Learning foreign language also removes the racism which gives an individual a feel of his own hometown. In opinion of some other individuals, learning foreign language does'nt comprise of these reasons. Many of us agree to this to some extent. For instance, if we have glance at our daily life many of us communicate in english language which makes us realize the neccesity of learning english language.
The adoption of foreign language is increasing at daily basis. In my opinion, learning a foreign language is more functional for a person traveling or working abroad as compared to the person living in homecountry. In my experience, around three years ago i travelled to Turkey with my family. When i reached there I was unable to communicate with the local people. The only reason was language barrier. As a reasult, I used the facility of google translation. At that moment i realized the importance of foreign language.
That is why it's important to learn a foreign language. If we do;nt learn a forign language we cannot engage in cultural activities of any foreign country.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You identify both views: learning a language for travel or work, and learning it for broader reasons, and your Turkey experience gives a relevant example of the practical value of language. However, the discussion of the second view is not clearly explained. The claim that language learning “removes the racism” is unclear, and the point about communicating in English does not show what other reasons people may have for learning a language. Your own position is also difficult to interpret: saying it is “more functional” for people abroad expresses a preference, but does not fully explain whether you agree that travel and work are the only reasons. Develop the wider benefits and state your position directly, then support each view with a clear example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
The response has a basic sequence: an introduction, discussion of reasons, a personal travel example, and a concluding statement. The Turkey anecdote is relevant and gives the essay a recognisable line of development. However, the progression between ideas is not consistently clear. For example, “Learning foreign language also removes the racism” appears without explanation, while the move from this claim to daily communication in English is abrupt. Linking phrases such as “In my opinion” and “For instance” help signal relationships, but some connections are mechanical or do not clarify the argument. Paragraphing also leaves the two views and your own position insufficiently distinct. Organise the essay into clear paragraphs for each view and your opinion, and use references and transitions that show how each example supports its point.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “language barrier,” “communicate,” “confidence,” “local people,” and “cultural activities.” These choices make the general subject understandable, and “language barrier” is particularly apt for your travel example. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or unclear, such as “removes the racism,” “at global level,” and “increasing at daily basis.” Spelling errors, including “neccessary,” “elligible,” and “reasult,” are noticeable and reduce the accuracy of the writing. Aim to use more precise expressions for the benefits of language learning, such as cultural understanding or social connection, and check spelling and common word partnerships carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, including the conditional structure “if we have glance at our daily life” and the time sequence in your Turkey example. The main ideas can generally be followed, but grammatical errors are frequent and some sentences are awkward or difficult to interpret. Examples include “one of the most important feature,” “Language … not only help us … but also give us,” and “if we do;nt learn … we cannot engage,” which show problems with agreement, sentence construction, and punctuation. Articles and sentence boundaries also need attention, as in “Learning foreign language” and the run-on opening paragraph. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement, articles, and punctuation in short sentences first, then combine ideas using controlled complex structures.
