Student answer (Band 5.0)

Some people believe that the learning a foreign language is just to get job or to travel in other country whereas other say that these is not only the reasons why they should learn other nation language. In these statement I have both the positive and negative opinion.

On the one hand, each countrys have their own language. The english language is commen whole over the world although there are local language of their own country which is mostely spoken by the citizens. So, while traveling to such places each have to know their language which helps them in travelling to different areas. In my point of view, when they understand such language then they cann't find any difficulties during such period of time. For example, last year in the summer vacation my friend went to korea for visit. During his vacation in korea he found language problems and he return back to home within 3 day. Therefore, due to the issues related to language he can't explore in kores.

In the other hand, nowaday many student are going to diffrent country for higher studies. The pupils have to manage their study and their living expences. To manage such activities students have to work in diffrent field. In this case, when they don't know about the language of the places where they had live then they will not get the job oppourtinities. Another important example of this is, my brother went to germany in 2024 january 20 and he return back at 2024 march 25. This all is happned because of language barrier to got job in germany. So that, withot proper skilled about language it will be impossible to get job in any field.

At lastely, In my point of view only language wiil not be enough for individuals to survive in other country. They should know the cultures and traditions of that area where they lived. They also have some siklled like driving, cooking, health care and so on which helps them to be in the field of jobs.

The conclusion is that foreign language is most important think to make life more easier. Although the some skilled are also much more important for them. The combination of language and skilled are the major factors.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You address both views by discussing language for travel and for finding work abroad, and you include a personal position in the final paragraphs. The examples about your friend in Korea and your brother in Germany make the discussion relevant. However, the position is not consistently clear: the opening says you have “both the positive and negative opinion,” while the conclusion mainly says language and other skills are important. The second view—that people learn languages for reasons beyond travel and work—is not really developed; instead, the essay largely returns to practical needs abroad. Explain another reason, such as cultural understanding or personal interest, and clarify your own view throughout. Several claims and examples also need fuller explanation to support the argument.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two main paragraphs and a conclusion. The travel example follows the discussion of communication abroad, and the work example is placed in a separate paragraph, so the reader can identify the main topics. However, progression is sometimes unclear: the paragraph beginning “In the other hand” discusses work, but the relationship between this point and the opposing view in the prompt is not made explicit. Linking phrases such as “Therefore,” “So that,” and “At lastely” are sometimes awkward or repetitive, and some references, including “This all,” are unclear. Use topic sentences that directly signal each view, and connect examples to the point they illustrate.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “language barrier,” “job opportunities,” “cultures and traditions,” and “higher studies.” These choices help communicate the subject, and some phrases show an attempt to express more specific ideas. However, errors in spelling, word forms and collocation are frequent and sometimes make the reader pause, as in “commen,” “mostely,” “oppourtinities,” and “skilled about language.” There is also repetition of basic terms such as “language,” “country,” and “important.” Build accuracy with common collocations and check spelling carefully; for example, use “learn a foreign language,” “employment opportunities,” and “language skills.” More precise vocabulary would make the argument clearer and less repetitive.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including clauses beginning “while” and “when,” and the overall meaning is usually recoverable. However, the range is limited and complex constructions are often faulty. Agreement and verb forms are inconsistent, as in “each countrys have,” “many student are,” and “he return back.” Articles and sentence patterns also cause problems, for example, “the learning a foreign language” and “the combination of language and skilled are.” These frequent errors can make some sentences difficult to follow. Practise forming accurate basic sentences first, then add subordinate clauses; check subject–verb agreement, past-tense forms in the personal examples, and article use before submitting.
