Student answer (Band 5.5)
A group of people beleive that only factor for acquistion of non-native tongue is just to travel or for to work in other country. Some individuals think this is not the suitable mindset.
On the hand, there is no doubt that practical reasons like travelling and employment are major motivations. Tourits learn the local languages of diferrent countries to communicate with the natives, understanding the signs and to enjoy the trip more. Moreover, some studnets learn differnet languages for stydying abroad and to improve their cognitive skills and people who want to join international companies for employment they also require good communication skills. Knowing a different tongue also provides better employment oppurtunities at foreign countries.
on the other hand, knowing another language helps in understanding the culture of different nations and we can also read the books. Furthermore, it also helps in personal growth andcultural understanding which promotes the different cultures in society. This also improves your personalty.
In my opinion, understanding or learning the foreign language jsut for stydying and for tourism or for employments crucials, but these are not the only ones. The educational, cultural and mental benefits are equally important. Thus, people should learn foreign language for overall development and not just for srudying abroad.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address both views and give a clear opinion that language learning has educational, cultural and personal benefits beyond travel and work. Relevant examples include tourists communicating with local people and students studying abroad. However, the discussion is brief and several points are asserted rather than explained: for example, “personal growth” and “cultural understanding” are not illustrated or developed. Your treatment of the practical view also introduces cognitive skills without explaining how they relate to the main argument. The response is 44 words below the required minimum, which limits the space available to develop and support your ideas. To strengthen the response, explain each view in more depth and add a specific example before concluding.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting the contrasting views, and a concluding opinion. The use of “On the hand” and “on the other hand” signals the main contrast, and “Moreover” and “Furthermore” add supporting points. However, progression within the paragraphs is limited, and several ideas are placed together without clear explanation of their relationship. For instance, studying abroad, cognitive skills and employment appear in one sequence, while the second body paragraph moves quickly from culture to reading books and personal growth. Some linking is also repetitive or awkward. Organise each paragraph around one central claim, then explain and exemplify it; use transitions only where they clarify the relationship between ideas.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “employment opportunities,” “communication skills,” “cultural understanding” and “personal growth.” These phrases help convey the main ideas, but the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, sometimes making the reader pause. Examples include “only factor for acquisition of non-native tongue,” “Tourits learn the local languages,” and “promotes the different cultures.” There are also frequent spelling errors, such as “beleive,” “acquistion,” “diferrent” and “oppurtunities,” which reduce the accuracy of the vocabulary. Aim for natural, precise expressions and proofread spelling carefully. Replacing repeated general terms such as “different” with more specific language would also improve flexibility.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a relative clause in “people who want to join international companies” and a contrastive structure in the final paragraph. However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently in sentence construction, articles, agreement and punctuation. For example, “only factor … is just to travel” has an incomplete grammatical pattern, while “these are not the only ones. The educational…” lacks a space after the full stop. In “the educational, cultural and mental benefits are equally important,” the sentence is clearer, but surrounding sentences often combine ideas without secure structure. Practise building accurate sentences with one main clause and a clearly connected supporting clause, and check articles, prepositions and sentence boundaries during proofreading.
