Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
You identify both views: learning a language for travel or work, and learning it for broader benefits such as memory and socialising. However, the response is incomplete and does not clearly give your own opinion, while the reasons are only briefly stated and lack examples or explanation. The final sentence is cut off at “Adapting to a new culture m,” so the second view is not fully developed. The response contains 157 words, below the required 250; the eight words copied from the prompt are excluded from that count. To strengthen the answer, state your position explicitly, explain each view with a specific example, and complete the discussion with a conclusion.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0
There is a basic attempt to organise the response into an introduction and two body paragraphs, and “On the other hand” signals a contrast between the views. However, the ideas do not progress clearly within the paragraphs: the first body paragraph moves from cultural attitudes to travel and communication without making the links explicit, while the second lists benefits without developing them. The repeated opening phrase “people who feel” also makes the progression feel mechanical. The unfinished final sentence interrupts the argument and leaves the paragraph without a clear ending. Use a clear topic sentence for each view, then connect each reason to an explanation or example, and add a concluding paragraph that restates your position.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You attempt some topic-related vocabulary, including “necessity,” “survival,” “communication,” “enhances,” and “socializing,” which helps convey the general subject. However, the range is limited and several spelling and word-choice errors make parts difficult to follow, such as “lanuage,” “forign,” “langauage,” “realted,” and “comforatable.” Some expressions are also unnatural or imprecise: “more centeralized towards their own cultural language” and “it only requirement is the survival” do not clearly express the intended ideas. Aim for accurate, natural collocations and check spelling carefully. More precise phrases such as “focused on their own language” and “a practical necessity” would make your points clearer.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You use some simple sentences and attempt longer structures, for example, “Going into foreign country or travelling there make it a necessity for them,” and “These people feel that learning a new language enhances their memorisation power.” However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences awkward or unclear. In the first example, the article and subject–verb agreement are incorrect; “Going to a foreign country or travelling there makes…” would be more accurate. The phrase “should not have to the sole reasons” also has a faulty grammatical pattern, and the final sentence is incomplete. Practise accurate articles, agreement, and sentence completion before adding more complex structures.
