Student answer (Band 5.5)
Some people opine that learning a new language is only useful for working in a foreign country or for travelling to other country, whereas other believe that is is not an only reason behind learning a new language. So, in the forthcoming paragraphs, I have supported my stand with th reasonable justifications and I have also included my stand at the end.
On the one hand, learning a new or foreign language can only useful for traveling or a work by which you can tackle language problems. In this modern era, travelling one country to another country is quite common, so learning a new language can helps people for better and clear conversation. Which can reduce language barrier and also increase talkative terms to a local people of a particular country.
On the other hand, learning a new language is hobby of some people. It is not neseccary that, learning a language is only essential for shifting to another country because some people are passionate to learn new languages. To learn languages such as germany, franch and british english can help to understand movies and songs. As a result, this hobby can be useful in day-to-day life too.
In my opinion, learning a new language is not only useful for academic purpose or visiting to a new country, but it can be beneficial for enhance understanding level while listening to musics or wathing movies. It can work as a useful skill.
To conclude, people, who learn different language for work or travelling can enhance communication skill in other countries and remove language barrier, whereas gain a knowledge about foreign languages can be helpful in some aspects such as better understanding of hollywood movies and songs.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You discuss both views and give a personal opinion, so the response is relevant to the task. The travel/work paragraph explains that language learning can help people communicate and reduce barriers, while the other-view paragraph mentions learning as a hobby and understanding films and songs. However, the position is not consistently clear: the opening says you will give your stand “at the end,” and the opinion paragraph introduces academic purposes without explaining them. The supporting ideas remain general, with no specific example or fuller explanation of why language learning has value beyond travel and work. Develop each view more evenly, clarify your opinion early, and support it with a concrete example to address the task more fully.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, two paragraphs presenting contrasting views, a personal opinion, and a conclusion. Linking phrases such as “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “To conclude” make the progression easy to follow, and the conclusion returns to the main contrast. This meets the lower-band expectation of coherent organisation and shows some of the stronger control associated with a more flexible progression. However, some connections are mechanical or unclear. For example, “Which can reduce language barrier” is an incomplete follow-on, and “whereas gain a knowledge” does not connect the ideas grammatically. Use complete sentences and clearer referencing, and vary transitions by showing the precise relationship between each reason and its result.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “language barrier,” “passionate,” “communication skill,” and “understanding level,” and the reader can generally identify your intended meaning. However, the range is limited and several noticeable word-choice, collocation, and spelling errors make expression awkward. Examples include “talkative terms,” “a work,” “neseccary,” “germany,” and “wathing.” Some phrases, such as “better and clear conversation” and “gain a knowledge,” are not natural in this context. Build a more accurate set of collocations for communication, travel, and cultural understanding, and check spelling and word forms carefully. More precise vocabulary would help you express the relevant ideas without relying on repeated general phrases such as “useful” and “new language.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a contrastive opening with “whereas” and a result clause beginning “As a result.” However, complex structures are often faulty, and frequent errors in agreement, verb forms, articles, and sentence boundaries sometimes make the reader work to understand the message. For instance, “learning a new or foreign language can only useful” is missing a verb form, “learning a new language can helps” has incorrect verb agreement, and “Which can reduce language barrier” is a sentence fragment. The opening also contains “other believe” and “is is.” Practise building complete sentences with accurate subject–verb agreement and articles, then proofread each sentence for a clear main clause and correct punctuation.
