Student answer (Band 5.0)

Although there is a school of thought that say that the only reason for learning a foreign language is in order to travel to or work in a foreign country, an alternative perspective contends that these are not the only reasons why someone should learn a foreign landuage. While both arguments possess a certain degree of validity, I am firmly of the opinion that is the foreign language are not the only reasons for travel and work only it may help us in more way. This essay will critically examine both prespectives before elucidating why I subscribe to this particular standpoint.

To commence with, there are several compelling arguments in favour of traveling in foreign countries we will get help through the learning a foreign language or we can also do a work in a foreign countries at a local level with the help of learning their language. this are the points that some people say that the only reason for learning a foreign language. They thinkes that the main reasones are this to only that one is travel to other countries and secon one is that the work in other countries for batter incom.

The other side is that the some people say that the foreign language is not for only traveling and work, they thinks that this is more banifitiyal for us in other wayes like mental development and more knowlageable for us. They can also do studies in foreign countries with the help of learning a foreign language and make thir brain powerfull and more active.

My opinion for this topic is the foreign language is not for travel and work only it can be helpfull for us in so many different way like studey in abrod or make our brain more active and knowlagable or exetra exetra. So the thing is that the foreign language is not for only teavel and work it is more usefull in many different way.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You address both views and state your opinion, particularly in the introduction and the paragraph about benefits beyond travel and work. The examples of studying abroad and developing the mind are relevant, but they are asserted rather than explained, and the discussion of the first view mostly repeats that people travel or work overseas without showing why these are important reasons to learn a language. Your position is present, but the wording in the introduction makes it difficult to understand precisely, and the conclusion repeats the same points instead of drawing them together. To strengthen the response, explain each view with a specific example and make your own position clear and consistent throughout. The response meets the required length; 47 words copied from the task prompt were not counted.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a concluding paragraph. Signposts such as “To commence with” and “The other side” help identify the intended sections. However, progression within paragraphs is limited, and several ideas are repeated, especially the claim that language learning is useful for more than travel and work. Some linking is awkward or unclear, as in “there are several compelling arguments in favour of traveling in foreign countries we will get help through the learning a foreign language.” The conclusion also restates earlier points rather than summarising the discussion. Develop a clearer sequence within each body paragraph, use linking expressions only where they show a real relationship, and connect examples directly to the claims they support.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You attempt some topic-related vocabulary, including “mental development,” “local level,” and “income,” and use phrases such as “school of thought” to introduce a viewpoint. However, the range is limited and several expressions are inaccurate or repetitive, which sometimes makes meaning difficult to follow. Examples include “foreign landuage,” “more banifitiyal,” “more knowlageable,” and “exetra exetra”; spelling errors are frequent enough to distract the reader. Phrases such as “make our brain powerfull” are also imprecise for an academic essay. Build a reliable set of correctly spelled terms for discussing education, communication, and personal development, and check whether each word fits its context. More precise vocabulary would help you explain your ideas without repeating “more useful” and “different way.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt both longer sentences and simpler statements, but control is inconsistent, and complex sentences often contain errors that make the relationships between ideas unclear. For example, “I am firmly of the opinion that is the foreign language are not the only reasons” has faulty clause structure and subject–verb agreement. Other examples include “this are the points” and “they thinks,” where the subject and verb do not agree, as well as missing or incorrect articles and plural forms in “in a foreign countries.” Sentence boundaries and capitalization also need attention: “this are the points” begins a new sentence without a capital letter. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then combine them with clauses using “because,” “while,” or “which.” Proofread agreement, articles, and punctuation systematically.
