Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You address both views: the first body paragraph explains language learning for travel and work, while the second introduces hobbies and teaching careers as other motives. However, the discussion remains limited and some points are not fully explained. For example, the travel paragraph repeats that language knowledge helps abroad without showing how this supports the view that travel and work are the only reasons. Your own position is also unclear: the conclusion says learning is beneficial for travel and work, then predicts that it is for those purposes, without clearly stating whether you agree that other reasons matter. Develop each view with a specific example and state your opinion directly, then maintain it consistently.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a recognisable introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion, and signposts such as “Firstly,” “Secondly” and “To sum up” help identify the stages of the discussion. However, progression within paragraphs is often repetitive: both body paragraphs end by restating their opening claim rather than extending it. The conclusion also shifts between the two positions, so the overall line of argument is difficult to follow. Some linking is mechanical, and references such as “these two statements” and “it” do not always make the intended point clear. Organise each paragraph around one distinct claim, explain it, and connect the explanation to a clear overall opinion.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “foreign language,” “travel,” “career” and “teaching field,” so the main subject is generally understandable. However, the range is limited and key expressions are repeated frequently, particularly “learning a foreign language” and “another country.” Several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or awkward, such as “highest in trend,” “travel to globe,” “built their career” and “compulsary.” Spelling errors, including “morden,” “furthere” and “Franch,” also reduce clarity and control. Build a wider set of accurate expressions for motives and benefits, and check spelling and collocations carefully so your ideas sound precise and natural.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a conditional structure in “if they do not have knowledge about the country language.” However, complex attempts are often faulty, and frequent errors in sentence structure, agreement, articles and verb forms can make the reader work to understand the meaning. For example, “learning a foreign language only reason is travel” lacks a clear grammatical structure, while “few individual thinks” has a subject–verb agreement problem. There are also incomplete or awkward constructions, such as “it is clear that learning a foreign language is the only reason to travel a foreign country.” Practise building accurate subject–verb sentences first, then add clauses and check articles, plurals and punctuation.
