Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You discuss both reasons for learning a language and give a personal view, so the response is relevant to the task. The examples about studying in Germany and developing an interest in Japanese help illustrate reasons beyond travel and work. However, the discussion is uneven: the non-travel reasons receive more explanation, while the case for learning a language for travel or work is stated briefly, mainly as a way to communicate with local people. Your position is present in the opening and conclusion, but it could be clearer and more fully supported. Develop both views with specific explanations, and make your opinion explicit—for example, that travel and work are important motives but not the only worthwhile ones. The response meets the stated length requirement; eight words copied from the task prompt were excluded from the count.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

There is a basic overall structure: you introduce the issue, give examples of personal interest and study, then discuss travel and work before concluding. The examples are generally relevant and the reader can follow the main message. However, progression between ideas is not consistently clear. The long paragraph beginning “Just like me consider as an example” combines study, personal interest, and future employment, making the relationships difficult to track. Linking phrases such as “For example” and “However” are used, but connections are sometimes mechanical or unclear, and the conclusion repeats the list of reasons rather than drawing the discussion together. Use separate paragraphs for the two views, with a clear topic sentence in each, and connect each example directly to the point it supports.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “foreign language,” “personal interest,” “communication,” and “professional job.” There are also attempts to express specific concepts, such as “admission in university” and “developed interest.” However, the range is limited and several word choices, collocations, and spelling errors make the writing less natural or occasionally harder to understand. Examples include “very found of,” “communication experience,” “assiociated,” and “bussiness.” Repetition of “learn,” “language,” and “interest” also limits flexibility. Build a wider set of accurate phrases for motives and benefits, and check spelling and collocations. More precise wording would help you explain the contrast between practical reasons and personal or educational motivations.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including a conditional-style explanation of how language learning helps communication and a detailed personal example. This shows some effort to connect ideas within sentences. However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently in sentence formation, agreement, articles, and punctuation. For instance, “it is a one of the main reason” has problems with the article and singular/plural agreement, while “a person went for holidays … and developed interest” shifts awkwardly between past and general meaning. Several sentences run together, such as the long example about studying in Germany, and commas are often missing after introductory phrases. Practise building accurate sentences with one main idea each, then add subordinate clauses only when you can control their structure.
