Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You discuss both views and state a clear position: you agree that language learning has purposes beyond travel and employment, particularly gaining knowledge and confidence. The first body paragraph explains practical benefits and gives a relevant example about your friend moving to France; the second introduces educational and personal benefits. This covers the task, but the two sides are not developed equally. The travel/work argument has a concrete example, while the claims about confidence and understanding scientific books are brief and not fully explained. The phrase “these are not prominent reasons” also makes the opposing view less precise than the prompt’s idea that travel and work are not the only reasons. Develop each reason with a clearer explanation or example to make the discussion more complete.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, one paragraph for each view, and a conclusion. The progression from practical reasons to broader benefits is easy to follow, and signposts such as “To begin with,” “To contrary,” and “In conclusion” help identify the stages of the argument. This meets the lower-band expectation of coherent organisation and shows some movement toward more flexible cohesion. However, several links are mechanical or awkward, and some references are unclear—for example, “these are not prominent reasons” does not clearly express that travel and work are not the only motives. The second body paragraph also moves quickly from confidence to books and social impact. Use more precise transitions and connect each supporting point explicitly to the paragraph’s main idea.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “financially stable,” “productivity,” “command,” and “confidence,” and the reader can generally understand your intended meaning. However, the range is limited and many noticeable spelling, word-form, and collocation errors reduce precision: “foregin,” “signicant,” “travlling,” “lanuages,” and “writtern” are examples. Some phrases are also unnatural, such as “in the term of knowledge,” “on the base of his language skill,” and “increase the confidence and knowledge.” These errors sometimes make the reader pause, which is consistent with this level. Build accuracy by checking spelling carefully and learning common word partnerships, such as “for employment,” “based on his language skills,” and “broaden one’s knowledge.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a contrast structure in “Although Language is very important…,” and most of the argument remains understandable. However, control is inconsistent, especially in longer sentences. For example, “I firmly agree latter statement” is missing an article, while “learn a new language also increase” has a subject–verb agreement error. The sentence beginning “The individuals who learn other language…” also contains problems with articles and sentence construction. Capitalisation and punctuation are uneven, as in “France, Now,” and commas sometimes separate clauses incorrectly. These recurring errors, alongside a limited range of reliably controlled structures, place the response at this level. Practise accurate article use, agreement, and complete sentence patterns before adding more complex clauses.
