Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You discuss both stated views: travel and overseas work are covered in the second paragraph, while personal development and teaching others appear in the third. Your opinion is also present in the introduction, where you say language learning builds confidence and skills, and the conclusion repeats this position. However, the response only partly develops the task. The reasons are often asserted rather than explained—for example, the link between language learning and competitive exams or personal growth is not illustrated—and the example of teaching a language to earn income is brief. Develop each main point with a clearer explanation or a specific example, and make your own view more explicit about why these additional reasons matter.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion, and the paragraphs broadly separate the two views. Linking expressions such as “To begin with,” “Moreover” and “In conclusion” help signal movement between points. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow: the second paragraph moves from travel to work without a clear distinction, and the third shifts from personal growth to career income. Some connections are also unclear, particularly “Another significant reason, who individuals learn foreign language.” Use topic sentences that state each paragraph’s central idea, then explain and exemplify it in a logical order. More precise referencing and fewer formulaic transitions would make the argument easier to follow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You attempt vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “traditions and culture,” “efficiency,” “colleagues” and “personal growth.” There is also some effort to vary expression rather than relying only on basic words. However, the range is limited and several inaccurate word choices or collocations make meaning unclear or unnatural. For example, “travel to international,” “boast their career in aboard” and “plummet another skills” do not express the intended ideas clearly; “deepth” and “largly” also show spelling errors. Aim to learn common word partnerships and check word forms and spelling. More accurate phrases such as “travel abroad,” “advance their careers overseas” and “develop other skills” would make your ideas clearer.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including clauses introduced by “because,” “if” and “which.” This shows an effort to express relationships between ideas, but complex sentences are often faulty, and errors occur frequently enough to make some passages difficult to understand. For instance, “if people learn language because of their career then it increase” has problems with articles and subject–verb agreement, while “people who learn foreign language they taught it” has an unclear clause structure and inconsistent verb form. Articles, plurals and agreement also need attention. Practise building accurate sentences with one main clause and a clearly attached supporting clause, then check each sentence for a consistent subject and verb.
