Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You address both views by discussing language learning for work and travel, and you state your own position: young people should learn several languages because this benefits their future and confidence. However, the discussion is only partly developed. The work paragraph repeats that people need a local language to communicate with customers, while the travel paragraph gives little explanation of how language learning helps beyond talking with local people. The additional reasons—study, employment opportunities, and confidence—are mentioned but not supported with specific examples. Your conclusion also mainly restates that languages are used for work and travel, so it does not clearly reinforce your broader opinion that there are other valuable reasons. Develop each main reason with a clear explanation or relevant example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable introduction, separate body paragraphs, and a conclusion, so the reader can identify its main sections. The sequence from work to travel and then to your opinion is generally understandable. However, progression within paragraphs is uneven: the work paragraph repeats the need to learn a language, and the travel paragraph shifts quickly from travel to study and jobs without showing how these ideas connect. Linking words such as “Initially,” “Subsequently,” and “Therefore” are used, but some feel mechanical or do not express the relationship precisely. Punctuation and spacing also make transitions harder to follow. Group related reasons together, use clearer topic sentences, and connect each example directly to the point it supports.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “international,” “communication skills,” “customers,” and “confidence,” and the general meaning is usually recoverable. However, the range is limited by repeated or imprecise choices such as “language,” “speech,” “tounge,” and “grasp it.” Several expressions are unnatural or unclear, including “in different area,” “picked up international speech,” and “a beneficial thing for upcoming youngsters.” Spelling errors such as “disscus,” “retaurants,” and “benificial” are noticeable and reduce accuracy. Aim for precise, natural collocations and check spelling carefully; for example, use “learn a language” rather than “grasp it,” and “future generations” rather than “upcoming youngsters.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more extended sentences, including “They should learn the tongue of that country to deal with their customers” and a conditional idea about receiving a job opportunity abroad. However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences difficult to read. For example, “there is a motive to acquire” has an awkward grammatical construction, “if you offered opportunity” is missing a verb form and article, and “It boost their communication skills” has subject–verb disagreement. Sentence boundaries are also often unclear, as in “travellers, travel all over the world,They have to talk…”. Practise accurate clause structure, verb agreement, articles, and punctuation, then proofread each sentence for a complete subject and verb.
