Student answer (Band 5.0)

a few individual believe that the predominant reason to learn a foreign language is just to work or travel that nation while rest of proportion of the people claims that these are not the only reason to learn a foreign language there also some other purposes. i concur with the second statement and discussion on both views will be discussed in upcoming paragraphs.

one of major reason why people think to learn a foreign language is only for to work or travel in that nation as the number of the overseas people increases gradually in any nation so the citizens of that nation notice them at different location especially in workplaces. which results is that individual of that nation make an assumption that overseas people come in their nation only for work and to improve their living standard. for instance , people of india especially the younger ones learn a foreign language to live in foreign nation for work which improve their standard of life.

however, rest of people claims that foreigner visit their nation for study which helps them to bulid more opportunuities in their future regarding any career. for example, a student who wants to became a doctor .so that student will perfer to study in america because that nation is best for doctor study . which later helps that learner to open more door of success in any nation

in the conclusion, learn a foreign language is not only for travel or work their but is mainly depend on person need some visit other country for study purpose

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You present a position in favour of the view that language learning has purposes beyond travel and work, and you include examples about employment and studying medicine abroad. However, the discussion only partly addresses the task: the second view is mainly illustrated through overseas students, without explaining other reasons such as cultural interest, communication with family, or personal development. The first view is also described largely as an assumption made by local citizens, rather than explaining why learners themselves may study a language for work or travel. Your opinion appears in the introduction and conclusion, but it is not consistently developed through the essay. Explain both perspectives directly and support your own position with clearer reasoning.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion, and the paragraphs broadly separate the two views. This gives the reader a basic route through the discussion. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear: the first body paragraph moves from overseas visitors to local citizens’ assumptions and then to Indian workers without clearly connecting these points. Linking phrases such as “however” and “for instance” are used, but some connections are mechanical or do not express the relationship precisely. The conclusion also introduces the idea of studying abroad without clearly summarising the discussion. Use topic sentences that state each view, then develop each point in a logical sequence with clear references.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “foreign language,” “overseas,” “workplaces,” “career,” and “standard of life,” so the main subject is generally understandable. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, which sometimes makes the meaning difficult to follow. For example, “rest of proportion of the people” is an awkward way to refer to the other group, and “open more door of success” is not a natural expression. Spelling errors such as “bulid,” “opportunuities,” and “perfer” also reduce accuracy. Build a bank of natural phrases for discussing motives and benefits, and check spelling and collocations when editing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt to connect ideas in longer sentences, for example with “as” and “which,” and you use both simple and more complex forms. However, complex sentences are often faulty, and frequent errors in sentence structure, agreement, articles and verb forms can make the reader work to understand the message. In “one of major reason,” the noun phrase and plural form are not controlled; “which results is that” also has an unclear grammatical structure. The sentence beginning “a student who wants to became a doctor” contains an incorrect verb form and an incomplete connection to the following idea. Practise building accurate sentences with one main clause and a clearly attached supporting clause, then check agreement, articles and punctuation.
